Xiao Pass Old Road Anecdote Locations in Where Winds Meet

Xiao Pass Old Road Anecdote Locations in Where Winds Meet

Xiao Pass Old Road holds four Anecdote pickups that fill out the Exploration log for the area, each tied to a small piece of readable lore about the Longwu Army, the Golden Peach, and the figures circling Qinzhou. Three are environmental finds (documents on crates, a bounty poster on a ruined wall, a fallen signpost), and the fourth comes from talking to an NPC.

📜
Quick answer: Pick up three documents at marked points along the old road (crates, ruined wall, fallen signpost), then speak with Meng Jichuan to register the fourth Anecdote. Each one auto-logs under Exploration → Xiao Pass Old Road.

Anecdote 1: Two Factions, One Land

The first pickup sits on a stack of wooden crates beside a ruined stone path in Xiao Pass Old Road. Approach the crates and use the View prompt on the document resting on top.

The fragment is a half-legible report addressed to Commander Zong, hinting at a stalled hunt and rival officers. Once collected, the Exploration entry reads that two rival commanders share control of the Longwu Army in Qinzhou: Commander Zhu staying back to claim the spoils, and Commander Zong leaving for Brokegate Village for reasons not yet explained.

You'll see the on-screen confirmation Anecdotes: Two Fact... Obtained when the pickup registers.

Anecdote 2: A Search in Vain

Head to a grassy stretch with a broken stone wall. A bounty poster is pinned to the wall — interact with it to grab the second Anecdote.

The notice describes a target with the bearing of a general rather than a common bandit, offering 200 taels of silver and a Longwu Army Lieutenant rank for capture alive, plus 300 taels for information leading to arrest. The Exploration entry confirms that Longwu Army soldiers have spent months on the Xiao Pass Old Road searching for someone who matches the Young General's description, with nothing to show for it.

Anecdote 3: The Peach Bearer

Follow a dirt path toward a cluster of stone ruins. A signpost lies flat on the ground near the ruins — interact with it to read the letter pinned underneath.

The letter is written by a Well of Heaven disciple and ties the Golden Peach to several major figures: General Guo of the Anxi Army, plus the Elder and Younger Generals Zhang of the Guiyi Army. Picking it up unlocks the entry, naming Guo Xin, Zhang Yichao, and Zhang Huaishen as the legendary generals whose fates are bound up with the Golden Peach, framing why so many factions are chasing it.

Anecdote 4: Drawn to Greatness

The final Anecdote isn't a document. Travel to the marked spot where an NPC named Meng Jichuan is sitting on stone slabs, and speak with him to trigger the entry.

Once the dialogue completes, the fourth slot under Xiao Pass Old Road in the Exploration menu fills in, finishing the set of four for the area.

How to verify all four are logged

Open the Exploration menu and select the Xiao Pass Old Road section. All four entries — Two Factions, One Land; A Search in Vain; The Peach Bearer; and Drawn to Greatness — should be unlocked with their flavor text visible. If a slot still shows as locked, return to that pickup point; the document or NPC remains interactable until the entry registers.

Pickups don't require a specific quest to be active, and the documents stay in place between visits, so you can clear them in any order while exploring the area.
