Konami is reviving one of the most beloved handheld card-battlers with Yu-Gi-Oh! TAG FORCE GX, a full remake of the 2008 PSP title Yu-Gi-Oh! GX TAG FORCE 3. It brings back Duel Academy with modern visuals, online play, and a much larger card pool, and it arrives early next year. The one hitch for a lot of players is where you can actually buy it.

What Yu-Gi-Oh! Tag Force GX is
This is a ground-up remake of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX TAG FORCE 3, the fourth-season PSP entry that never got a proper Western dub. You play through your final year at Duel Academy, pick a partner from over 100 visually upgraded characters, and battle as a Tag Dueling duo toward a graduation Duel. The 3D character models, which mostly appeared during card activations in the original, now stay on screen through story scenes and Duels, and the summoning sequences have been rebuilt.
It also marks the first time GX TAG FORCE 3 content has been officially released in the Americas, since the original skipped North and Latin America entirely.

The catch: no PlayStation or Xbox version
The remake is exclusive to Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and Steam. That leaves PlayStation and Xbox owners out, which stings given that Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is already established on those consoles. A future port hasn’t been ruled out, but nothing beyond the three confirmed platforms has been announced.
New features and card count
The headline upgrade is the card pool. The remake includes over 3,800 cards, up from 3,501 in the original, with additional fan-favorite cards that support GX-era Decks. The game is also fully voiced, with returning voice actors, so lines that were text-only in the West now have audio.
