Version 3.1 of Zenless Zone Zero, titled “The Long Goodbye,” went live on July 29, 2026, the same day the game marked its second year of service. The update adds two S-Rank Agents, the game’s first Lumiflux attribute, a permanent mode called Enigma of the Labyrinth: Operation Bagel, a summer event, and a stack of anniversary gifts. It also brings the game to Xbox PC for the first time.

New Agents: Remielle and Sigrid
Remielle Dan is the first Agent to use the new Lumiflux attribute. Her Attribute Flux mechanic matches her damage attribute to whichever Agent follows her in the squad, so you can shape her output around an enemy’s weakness by choosing the right teammate. She builds resources to enter the Phase Flow state, feeding buffs to the whole team without spending field time, and when fully charged she drops in for a strong Assist Attack. Her Lumiflux reaction Refringe turns Anomaly Buildup into a single high-burst explosion.
Sigrid arrives in the second half of the version as an S-Rank Ice Attack Agent. Her play revolves around the Aerial Patrol Spear Form. Every time an Unbridled Spear skill lands, she enters that form, letting her hold Basic Attack for alternate attacks while her CRIT Rate climbs for a set time. The cleaner your attack rhythm, the more damage she deals.

A new S-Rank Bangboo, Ariel, also debuts her angelic form and can be pulled through the “An Outstanding Partner” Signal Search.
Rerun banners and the Rescreening channel
Aria, the S-Rank Ether Anomaly Agent, reruns in the first half alongside Remielle. The second half opens the Exclusive Rescreening channel, where you freely pick one of three S-Rank Agents: Dialyn, Ukinami Yuzuha, or Asaba Harumasa. A matching W-Engine Reverberation channel lets you choose a rate-up W-Engine, and accumulated Signal Search progress carries over between both rerun channels.
2nd Anniversary rewards and how to claim them
The anniversary gift centers on a free limited S-Rank Agent selector. During Version 3.1, every Proxy can pick one of Jane, Soldier 0 – Anby, Hugo, Trigger, or Lucia, together with that Agent’s exclusive W-Engine. Pyrois’s latest Mindscape and the matching W-Engine overclock materials are also handed out during the celebration.
Version login rewards total 1,600 Polychromes. The second-half check-in event “The Great En-Nah Giveaway!” adds 10 Encrypted Master Tapes and 10 Boopon, and the “Gift From the Clouds” login event grants a further 10 Encrypted Master Tapes, bringing the pull total to 20 Signal Searches. Three more limited S-Rank Agents, Tsukishiro Yanagi, Caesar, and Zhu Yuan, join Custom Search with their exclusive W-Engines, so you can draw them from the standard pool.

This is the new permanent mode, unlocking after 2026/08/05 10:00 (server time) for Proxies at Inter-Knot Lv. 40. You dive into a corrupted stretch of the Hollow to gather supplies, strengthen your Agents, and evacuate before the timer runs out with your loot intact. Collected supplies feed a research station’s infrastructure to expand what you can do on later runs.
The mode runs on a seasonal cycle and shares weekly progress with Hollow Zero, with fresh exclusive rewards each season, including Polychromes, the Agent Focus: Pyrois reward, and new Proxy accessories such as Belle: Chipi-Meow and Wise: Dubi-Meow.
Summer event and new outfits
The Fantasy Resort event “Summer Waves Roll In” runs from launch until 2026/09/07 03:59 (server time). Join Lucy, Sigrid, and Remielle for beachcombing and souvenir shop management, and finish the main storyline to earn Lucy’s summer outfit “Princess on Holiday” for free.

Remielle’s two outfits are also sold together as the “Moonlit Shore” bundle at a 30% discount for Monochrome ×2,350. Bundle and individual discounts cannot be combined.
System changes: Custom Search, Beginner Guide, and quality-of-life
The new Custom Search mechanism lets you pre-select 6 S-Rank Agents from a pool of limited and standard S-Rank Agents. When you land a non-rate-up S-Rank Signal, it comes from that chosen pool, with each Agent having an equal chance. The corresponding W-Engine channel and A-Rank Signals support the same customization, and the settings stay in place long-term so you can adjust them anytime.
The Beginner’s Guide replaces the old Proxy Trial. It splits into an Enhancement Guide and Handbook Missions, offering team composition advice, progression steps, and dedicated interfaces for level-up and Polychrome acquisition based on your current Inter-Knot level. The EXP needed to climb from Inter-Knot level 20 to 50 has been reduced for faster early progression.
- A-Rank W-Engines in Storage now support batch locking and unlocking, with a target max-overclock quantity that auto-unlocks any extras.
- The W-Engine recommendation panel now auto-selects the version with the higher level and overclock phase.
- A new “Crowd Density” graphics setting helps reduce device load and improve smoothness.
- DX12 support has been added for select AMD graphics cards, and dynamic light bar effects for the DualSense controller.
- The Monochrome Market first-purchase double bonus resets with the new version.

Additional anniversary-themed events run through the version, including Phaethon’s Grand Reveal of the Year, Potential Hypothesis: Hunting Game, and the Wish Post Office event “Ding-Dong! Delivery Training in Progress.”
Combat mode updates
Shiyu Defense refreshes its Critical Node buffs across three phases, rewarding Anomaly-heavy squads, Ice and Electric damage, and Ether damage depending on the phase. Deadly Assault rotates in new enemies, including Girtablullu – Stagnant Aberrant, Notorious – Dead End Butcher, and Primordial Nightmare – “The Creator.” A new Adversity Mode unlocks after earning 9 Stars in the current season’s Trial Mode, granting a limited-time animated avatar, title, namecard, and Investigation Certificates for hitting the target scores. Hollow Zero adds Tactical Prism Programs and Task Force Missions for both Remielle and Sigrid.
Several Additional Abilities were also widened to trigger for Anomaly teammates. Hoshimi Miyabi’s Bask in Frost, Aria’s Collaborative Stage, and Piper’s Synced Acceleration now count Anomaly characters toward their activation conditions.
Collaborations and platform launch
The annual food collab “Operation Yum” returns, this time led by Ellen and Manato. In the United States it pairs with the Japanese ramen chain Kyuramen for themed meals and merchandise, while in Singapore it partners with hotpot brand Haidilao for collab meal sets and limited merch rewards. Themed aesthetic exhibitions across several regions were also announced, with cities and dates to follow on official channels. A separate crossover with Honkai: Star Rail, teased through the appearance of Pom-Pom, is set for later in the winter.
Version 3.1 also expands where you can play. Zenless Zone Zero launched on Xbox PC on July 29, joining PC via HoYoPlay and Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, iOS, and Android, with full crossplay and cross-save supported. Xbox Game Pass members receive monthly bonus drops similar to those in Genshin Impact.
