Zhuang Fangyi is the 6-star Electric Striker debuting in Arknights: Endfield 1.2 as the game's first Lightning-element main DPS. Her kit loops around three ideas that must happen in order: stack Electric Infliction on the enemy, convert those stacks into Electrification through her Combo Skill, and then burn that Electrification with her Battle Skill to summon Sunderblades and unleash massive Electric damage.

Core identity and role
Fangyi is a Striker using an Arts Unit weapon, and her damage is gated almost entirely by her Ultimate window. Casting Smiting Tempest puts her into the Empyrean of Truth state, which enhances her basic attacks, grants interrupt resistance, shortens her Combo Skill cooldown, and makes the first Battle Skill cast free — no SP, no Electrification consumed, and a guaranteed 3 Sunderblades summoned.
Outside that window, she is functional but slow. The Combo Skill cooldown is long, and her Battle Skill scales with the number of Sunderblades on the field (up to 9). Every team decision is about feeding her Electric Inflictions and SP, so the burst windows come around faster.
Skill breakdown
| Skill | Name | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Basic Attack | Jolting Arts | 5-hit Electric combo. Final Strike deals 999 Stagger. Finisher near Staggered targets deals heavy Electric damage and refunds SP. |
| Battle Skill | Mantra of Sundering | Consumes Electrification to boost damage and summon up to 3 Sunderblades per cast. More blades on the field means more damage per cast. |
| Combo Skill | Breath of Transformation | Triggers on Final Strike or Finisher against an Electrically Inflicted target. Converts Electric Infliction into Electrification, with level based on stacks consumed. |
| Ultimate | Smiting Tempest | Empyrean of Truth state. Combo Skill becomes AoE with faster cooldown. First Battle Skill is free and guarantees 3 Sunderblades. |
Sunderblade counts scale with the Electrification level consumed. No Electrification gives 1 blade, level 1 gives 2, and level 2 or higher gives 3. Level 2 Electrification requires consuming 2 stacks of Electric Infliction in one Combo Skill trigger, which is why teammates who apply multiple Infliction stacks are so valuable.

Skill leveling priority
Level Battle Skill first — it is the primary damage source and scales directly with Sunderblade count. Ultimate and Combo Skill come next and can be leveled roughly in parallel, since the Ultimate is what opens her damage window and the Combo Skill is what sets up Electrification. Basic Attack is last.
Recommended order: Battle Skill > Ultimate = Combo Skill > Basic Attack.
Best weapon: Lone Barge
Lone Barge is Fangyi's signature Arts Unit and the clear best-in-slot. It carries an Attack stat and the Suppression: Streaming Blitz effect, which increases Electric damage dealt, stacks a Battle Skill Electric damage buff whenever her Battle Skill consumes an Arts Reaction, and layers on an additional non-stacking Battle Skill Electric damage buff after she casts her Ultimate.
Because her Battle Skill naturally consumes Electrification (which counts as the relevant Arts Reaction), the stacks build passively during normal play. Lone Barge is available through the Arsenal Exchange under the Drifting Raft Issue banner.

Gear recommendation
The new Xiranflow Gear Pack introduced in 1.2 is built for her kit and is the expected best-in-slot set. Full set effects depend on the new materials sourced from Marker Stone and Precipitation Acid processing. Until Xiranflow is fully farmed, existing Electric or Attack-oriented gear pieces from Bonekrusha or Frontiers sets will carry her through early content.
Team composition
Fangyi's two locked core teammates are Perlica and Arclight. Perlica solves the Electric Infliction problem — her Battle Skill applies Infliction stacks that Fangyi's Combo Skill can convert into level 2 Electrification, and her own Electrification debuff amplifies team Arts damage. Arclight addresses SP starvation. Her Combo Skill has a short cooldown and is consistently triggered because Fangyi is constantly applying and consuming Electrification, creating a reliable SP loop.
| Slot | Operator | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Main DPS | Zhuang Fangyi | Electric burst carry, on-field during Ultimate window. |
| Sub-DPS / Infliction | Perlica | Electric Infliction source, Electrification debuff, personal damage. Detonation Unit is a strong weapon choice. |
| Support / Vanguard | Arclight | SP generation via spammable Combo Skill, team Electric buffs with OBJ Edge of Lightness or Thermite Cutter. |
| Flex | Antal / Gilberta / Ardelia / Avywenna | Choose based on fight type — see below. |

Picking the fourth slot
Antal is the strongest pick for single-target boss fights. His Combo Skill adds another Electric Infliction stack, which makes level 2 Electrification reliably reachable, and he provides the highest single-target damage amplification available to Electric teams.
Gilberta works as a comfort pick and premium Arts support. Her Nature Infliction helps layer additional Electrification on enemies, and her healing and shielding keep Fangyi alive during extended on-field burst combos.
Ardelia provides healing plus an Arts Susceptibility debuff, and pairs well with Thermite Cutter and Wild Wanderer weapon effects. She is a solid choice if you want sustain without sacrificing too much damage amplification.
Avywenna is the most aggressive option. She applies her own Electric Infliction, adds an Electro Susceptibility debuff, and deals meaningful sub-DPS. She does fight Fangyi for SP, so only run her when you have strong SP generation elsewhere.

Rotation in practice
Step 1: Open with Perlica's Battle Skill to apply Electric Infliction stacks on the primary target. If Antal is in the team, follow with his Combo Skill to add another stack.
Step 2: Swap to Fangyi and perform a full 5-hit basic attack string into a Final Strike or Finisher. This triggers her Combo Skill, which consumes the Electric Infliction and applies Electrification at the corresponding level.
Step 3: Cast Mantra of Sundering to consume the Electrification, summon up to 3 Sunderblades, and deal Battle Skill damage. Repeat the basic attack and Combo Skill loop to maintain Sunderblades on the field.
Step 4: When the Ultimate is ready, cast Smiting Tempest and immediately use Mantra of Sundering. The first cast is free, guarantees 3 Sunderblades, and benefits from the Lone Barge post-Ultimate damage buff. Continue spamming the enhanced Battle Skill and AoE Combo Skill until the Empyrean of Truth state ends.

Weaknesses to plan around
Fangyi's damage depends on completing her 5-hit basic attack strings and landing Final Strikes or Finishers to proc the Combo Skill. Mobile or aggressive enemies that interrupt her chains can significantly reduce damage output, which is why interrupt resistance during her Ultimate matters so much.
She is also setup-heavy. Missing a Combo Skill trigger, wasting Electrification on a low-level conversion, or casting Battle Skill with zero Electrification available all cost major damage. Running Perlica is near-mandatory precisely because she removes most of the setup friction.
Banner and availability
Zhuang Fangyi's debut banner, Thunder of Renewal, is live alongside the 1.2 update. Her signature weapon Lone Barge runs on the Drifting Raft Issue Arsenal Exchange banner during the same window. After her banner ends, she enters the off-banner pool for two additional banners before being removed, so plan pulls accordingly if you intend to acquire her copies or potentials.
