The Necromancer Staff is the headline reward tied to the Shipwreck Region in 100 Days at Sea, the same update that added the Lich King boss and the Necromancer Class. There are two ways to end up with the weapon in your hands, and only one of them involves fighting anything.
Quick answer: Defeat the Lich King and open the chest on his island, or buy the Necromancer Class for 750 Pearls, which comes with the staff equipped by default.
Buy the Necromancer Class to skip the fight
If you would rather not chase down the Lich King, you can purchase the Necromancer Class for 750 Pearls. The staff is that class’s default weapon, so unlocking the class hands you the weapon immediately. On top of that, the class grants an extra 20% Magic Damage, which the staff benefits from directly.
This route bypasses the Shipwreck Region entirely. You do not need to find the biome, solve any puzzles, or beat the boss to get the staff this way.
Find the Shipwreck Region first
The Shipwreck Region is randomly generated, just like the other biomes. It does not appear in every run, so if it never spawns, your only option is to start a new run and look again.
You will recognize it by a large central area sealed behind a force-field barrier, ringed by lighthouses that beam light toward the middle. Those lighthouses are what keep the barrier up, and shutting them all down is the whole point of the region. Around the barrier sit five Shipwreck Islands, each holding one Crystal Skull behind a puzzle.
Solve all five Crystal Skull puzzles
Each island runs a different challenge, and completing it opens a green Shipwrecked Chest that holds a Crystal Skull. The islands do not spawn in a set order, and details like dig spots and door symbols are randomized per run, so treat these as puzzle types rather than fixed layouts.

Keep a weapon ready on the Digging and Flag Raising islands. Digging can spawn enemies, and raising a flag pulls in Skeletons mid-animation, which can catch you off guard when you are playing solo.
Charge the skulls to drop the barrier
Grabbing a Crystal Skull is only half the job. Carry it to the pedestal on that same island and place it to begin the ritual. This spawns waves of Skeletons, and defeating them feeds their souls into the skull. Keep fighting until the skull hits 100% charge.
Every fully charged skull powers down one lighthouse. Once all five are charged and all five lighthouses go dark, the central barrier disappears. You will see the message “The Forcefield is Lifted, the Lich King Awaits,” which is your cue that the boss island is open.
Beat the Lich King
Enter the central arena through the main door to start the fight. The Lich King has a large health pool, with figures reported between 3,000 and 4,000 HP, and he fights alongside Skeletons carrying rifles and Ghost Cutlasses. His lightning attacks are the real threat, so standing directly in front of him for long is risky.
Ranged classes make this far easier. The Ancient Squid Class and the Alien Overlord Class both carry long-range weapons that let you deal steady damage from a safe distance. Keep your stamina bar topped up so you can sprint and dodge the lightning, and don’t let the summoned Skeletons box you in.
Claim the Necromancer Staff and confirm the drop
Defeating the Lich King completes the region’s main objective and drops several rewards. The Necromancer Staff comes from the chest inside the boss island, so open it after the fight ends to add the weapon to your inventory.
