1666 Amsterdam platforms on August 25
This launch is PC only. The Early Access build is set for Windows through Steam and the Epic Games Store. It is a single-player game with no online multiplayer.
| Store or platform | August 25 status |
|---|---|
| Steam (Windows PC) | Early Access unlocks |
| Epic Games Store (Windows PC) | Early Access unlocks |
| PlayStation 5 | Not part of this launch |
| Xbox Series X | Not part of this launch |
| Xbox Game Pass | Not announced |
| PlayStation Plus | Not announced |

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X pages still sit outside this date. No console unlock time is attached to the August 25 window, and the game has not been announced for Game Pass, PlayStation Plus, or Nintendo Switch Online.
What Early Access includes
August 25 is not a finished 1.0 ship. Panache Digital Games is opening a work-in-progress campaign and plans to keep building it with player feedback. The studio expects Early Access to last about a year, with several large content updates along the way.
The first slice is the opening stretch of the campaign. Panache estimates that opening piece at about 15 hours. Later updates are meant to add more of the city, more story, and more of The Originals for Noa to collect. Bug fixes and performance work are also part of that plan.
Pricing is set to start lower for people who join early, then rise as the game moves toward completion. No public dollar amount is attached to that plan yet.
Note: If you want a complete, locked campaign on day one, this date is the wrong target. The unlock is the first chapter of a longer Early Access cycle.
What launches in the game
1666: Amsterdam is a third-person, story-led action-adventure from Panache Digital Games, the studio led by Patrice Désilets. You play as Noa Brooklyn, also called the Collector, a witch raised by the Zaindaris to take power back from long-lived beings known as The Originals.
Days are for walking a handcrafted Amsterdam and reading the city. Nights are for pulling those hidden targets into the open and facing them during the Esbat. You can switch to Aaron, who moves through the same streets as a cat, with a different set of abilities.
That day-and-night loop is the product going live on August 25. The Early Access build starts that investigation in the first boroughs and expands from there.
Free 1666 Amsterdam prologue
You do not have to wait until Tuesday to sample the tone. A free prologue is already up on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Steam lists it as a separate demo page, and the playable intro runs about 30 minutes.
The prologue is a short narrative start, not the full 15-hour Early Access campaign. Use it to check movement, spellcasting, and whether the mood lands before the paid build unlocks. The official Steam prologue page is the 1666: Amsterdam (Prologue) listing.
How to confirm 1666 Amsterdam is live
The cleanest check is the store page itself. Before the unlock, Steam still presents the full game as not yet available, with August 25, 2026 as the planned release date. When the switch happens, that coming-soon state should give way to purchase and download.
A wishlist notice is the other signal. If you already follow the Steam or Epic listing, the store can ping you when the page turns purchasable. On PC, the game is live when it can be bought, added to your library, and installed. If the page still says coming soon after 8:00 PM UTC, the unlock has not completed on that storefront yet.
The August 25 timer is for the PC Early Access open, not a later console date and not a finished version of the campaign. Once the buy button appears, you are looking at the first 15-hour chapter, with the rest of Amsterdam still scheduled to arrive in updates after launch.
