Kelvaris is the headline creature of Week 2 of the Summer Paradise 2026 event in Creatures of Sonaria, added alongside a remodel for the Aesho. Despite the “Flying Turtle” nickname attached to it in the update notes, Kelvaris is a terrestrial land creature and cannot fly. Getting it comes down to one thing: working through the Monster Kelp mission chain until every task is checked off.
Quick answer: Open the Event Missions menu, complete all four Monster Kelp tasks (grow a Tier 5 terrestrial creature to Age 100, spin the Semi-Aquatic gacha five times, grow three palm trees, and live through Monsoon weather), then click Claim on the Kelvaris reward card.

Monster Kelp mission requirements
The Monster Kelp mission is the only path to Kelvaris. All four objectives must be finished before the reward unlocks, and they can be worked on in any order. Here is what each one asks for.
| Task | What to do |
|---|---|
| Grow a Tier 5 terrestrial species to Age 100 | Pick a Tier 5 land creature and raise it to Age 100 |
| Spin the Semi-Aquatic gacha 5 times | Use the Semi-Aquatic gacha a total of five times |
| Grow 3 palm trees | Plant three Palm Sprouts in drinkable water |
| Experience the Monsoon weather | Stay in-game until the Monsoon weather cycle occurs |

Note: The Event Shop is separate from the mission reward. Creatures like Capukoralu (1,400 Pearls), Squitico (1,400 Pearls), and Denjizi (1,800 Pearls) are bought with Pearls, but Kelvaris itself only comes from finishing Monster Kelp.
How to confirm Kelvaris unlocked
When all four tasks read as complete, the Claim button on the Kelvaris card in the Event Missions menu becomes active. Pressing it moves Kelvaris into your creature list, where you can select it to spawn. If the button stays locked, one of the four objectives is still unfinished, most often the Monsoon weather task, which relies on the in-game weather cycle rather than anything you can force.

Kelvaris stats and abilities
Kelvaris is a Tier 5 (Huge) land omnivore built around defense and mobility, with a climbing kit and strong resistances. Its baby form can climb and move around freely, and using a Max Growth Token pushes it straight to its adult form, which adds swimming on top of its climbing attacks and animations.
| Attribute | Value |
|---|---|
| Tier | Huge (5) |
| Type | Land |
| Diet | Omnivore |
| Health | 8,750 |
| Damage | 230 |
| Stamina | 80 |
| Growth Time | 1h 10m |
| Weight | 9,750 lbs |
| Walk | 40 |
| Sprint | 73 |
| Passive Effects | Defensive Injury 1, Climber, Defensive Urchin Sickness 2.5, Iron Stomach, Agile Swimmer, Block Poison, Block Bleed, Block Frostbite |
| Active Abilities | Reflux, Harden, Breath (Sand) |
The mix of Block Poison, Block Bleed, and Block Frostbite makes Kelvaris resistant to the most common status effects, while Harden and its Defensive passives lean into a tanky playstyle. If you clear Monster Kelp while the Summer Paradise event is live, the creature is yours to keep once you hit Claim.
