The Lower Deep sits beside the volcanic vents inside The Deep, and it holds a cluster of dark, burned-looking species that only appear this far down. Completing its bestiary means catching every fish under its specific bait, weather, time, and season conditions.
Quick answer: Dive to GPS (1772, -2775, -11938) with a Harpoon Gun equipped, then catch each fish using the exact bait, weather, timing, and season listed in the table below.

How to reach the Lower Deep
The Lower Deep is one of the sublocations within The Deep. To get there, dive south and travel straight down to the coordinates (1772, -2775, -11938). You will recognize the spot by its large volcanic vents and the glowing openings along the seafloor.
Most catches here require a Harpoon Gun rather than a standard rod, so bring one before you descend. Frost Biter, Relic Piercer, and Trident Striker all work well for pulling in the creatures that live at this depth.

Add to Google Preferences →Lower Deep fish, bait, and catch conditions
Match each fish to its preferred bait and conditions. A dash means the fish has no fixed requirement for that column, so any value works. Bent Harpoon is the location’s trash catch and comes up on a Magnet.

How to plan your catches efficiently
Weather and season change over time, so it helps to group fish that share the same conditions and clear them in one visit. For example, the two Snailfish entries and the Luminous Hake all call for a Foggy or Clear Night, so lining up those windows saves trips back to the vents.
Trench Grubs cover three of the Uncommon catches, and Bio-Infused Coral handles both Icelus Hypselopterus and Arbiter Snailfish, so stock those baits before diving. The two Mythical fish, Luminous Hake and Banded Snailfish, both use Luminous Flakes at night, which lets you chase both in the same session when the season lines up.
Note: The Bent Harpoon is pulled up with a Magnet and does not depend on weather, time, or season, so you can grab it on any run.
How to confirm the bestiary is complete
Open the Bestiary by pressing H and select the Lower Deep from the location list on the left. Each fish you have caught shows its full entry, while anything still missing appears as a dark silhouette with only its hint visible.
Completion is shown as a percentage on the location page. When you reach 100%, the text for that location turns yellow, confirming every fish has been logged. Remember that a fish only counts toward completion if you catch it yourself, since traded fish do not register on your progress.
If your percentage is stuck, the usual cause is a fish caught under the wrong conditions or a variant that has not registered. Recheck the weather, time of day, and season against the table, then return to (1772, -2775, -11938) and try again with the listed bait.
