A full breakdown of the first major Anime Expeditions patch, from new Mythic units to the Tower mode and limited events.

The Warrior Saga update is the first major content drop for Anime Expeditions, and it reshapes the game well beyond its launch loop. Update 1.0 brings 11 new units, the Tower game mode, the East Town map, a bigger Expedition system, an Auto Play feature, several limited events, and a batch of fresh equipment and cosmetics.

Quick answer: Warrior Saga (Update 1.0) went live on August 10, 2026. Log in to access the new units, the Tower mode, East Town, the West City Expedition, Auto Play, and the Dragon’s Wish, Boss Bounty, and Guess That Unit! events. Some events are limited and end when Update 2 arrives.

All 11 New Units and How to Get Them

The update adds 11 units spread across the Secret, Limited Exclusive, and Mythic rarities. Most Mythics come from Summoning and then evolve into a second form, while the two headline units, Prodigy and Cubert, are locked behind specific content.

Prodigy is the Secret unit tied to the Scholar’s Trial quest, which runs through the two new East Town Quest NPCs. Once you own Prodigy, you can evolve it into Prodigy (Rage). Cubert is the Limited Exclusive reward for clearing Floor 50 of the Tower.

Tower Mode: Endless Floors and the Cubert Reward

Tower is a new endless game mode built around climbing floors that never stop. Each floor can spawn with random Elemental Resistances, which act as Modifiers that reduce the damage certain units deal. That forces you to vary your team instead of leaning on a single element.

You can run Tower in two ways. Traits mode keeps unit Traits active, while Traitless mode disables all Traits and makes stages harder to clear. The rewards for both are similar, so the choice comes down to how much challenge you want.

Clearing stages pays out Gems and Gold. The mode also carries an exclusive seasonal unit, milestone rewards, and seasonal leaderboards for Shiny units, skins, and titles. Reaching and winning Floor 50 grants Cubert.

East Town Map and the Scholar’s Trial

East Town is the new map, and it follows the same three-mode layout as the game’s other areas. Each mode targets a different reward goal.

ModeWhat it offers
StoryNormal and Hard stages with Modifiers and rewards
InfiniteHard stages that pay out for every five successful waves
MasteryHard stages with exclusive Equipment rewards

East Town also adds two Quest NPCs hidden within its stages. You have to explore the map during a run to find them, and finishing their questline unlocks Prodigy. Because Prodigy is tied to the Scholar’s Trial here, East Town is worth prioritizing if you are collecting the new Secret unit.

West City Expedition and Auto Play

The Expedition system grows with the West City Expedition map. To reach it, you first need to finish all earlier Expedition stages. Alongside the new map, the update introduces the Encounters node type, a new Building Material, new Building Upgrades, a Payload Skin feature, and a refreshed MASTRR event.

Auto Play is the quality-of-life addition that will matter most for routine farming. It can place units for you, supports both general and per-slot settings, and lets you save and load presets so you do not have to rebuild the same setup every run.

Warrior Saga Events and Schedule

The update rotation includes 11 events, and several are limited-time. The three headline additions are Dragon’s Wish, Boss Bounty, and the Guess That Unit! minigame.

Dragon’s Wish

Dragon’s Wish runs on daily quests. Completing objectives earns Event Coins, Equipment Rerolls, and Trait Crystals. The bigger prizes are the Wish Dragon Mount and a free Unbound Trait, both of which require you to collect all 7 Orbs by finishing the quests. Those quests ask you to clear Challenges and obtain specific Equipment and Units.

Collect all 7 Orbs in Dragon’s Wish to earn the Wish Dragon Mount and a free Unbound Trait.

Boss Bounty

Boss Bounty is built around fighting randomly selected bosses. Every day changes the boss, stage, difficulty, resistances, and modifiers. If you do not like your options, you can spend Gold to reroll for a better draw. Clearing bounties rewards Event Coins, Trait Crystals, and more.

Boss Bounty event
Boss Bounty randomizes the boss, stage, difficulty, resistances, and modifiers each day.

Guess That Unit!

Guess That Unit! is a daily minigame where you identify blacked-out units. It comes in Normal and Hard difficulty, and completing it awards Event Coins you can spend in the Event Shop on Rerolls and Evolution material.

Event Timings

Some events are already active, while others start on set dates. The core Warrior Saga content, including the new units and Tower mode, is available now.

Rounding out the cosmetics are two mounts, three emotes, and one accessory. The mounts are Fierce Dragon and Space Car. The emotes are Cape Pose, Dunk Emote, and Transformation. The new accessory is Angel Wings.

Between the Tower climb, East Town’s Secret quest, the West City Expedition, and the limited event rotation, Warrior Saga fills out the systems that felt thin at launch. If you want the exclusive units, focus on Floor 50 of Tower for Cubert and the Scholar’s Trial in East Town for Prodigy before Update 2 closes the limited content.
