Prodigy (Rage) is the Secret unit added with the Warriors Saga update in Anime Expeditions, and it sits at the top of the current unit rankings. Based on Gohan from Dragon Ball, it is locked behind a long questline tied to the new East Town map. You have to build up two Mythic units first, grind expedition materials, and then evolve the base Prodigy into its Rage form.
Quick answer: Summon Carrot and Bioinsect from the Standard Banner, evolve both, complete every objective in “The Scholar’s Trial” to claim the base Prodigy, then evolve it into Prodigy (Rage) using 1 Rage Catalyst, 20 Sprite (Red), 20 Sprite (Pink), 20 Sprite (Purple), 10 Sprite (Rainbow), and 2,250,000 Gold.

What you need before starting The Scholar’s Trial
The questline depends on two Mythic units that you pull from the Standard Banner: Carrot (Goku) and Bioinsect (Cell). Both must be evolved into their upgraded forms before you can clear the wave-clear objectives later on. Get them early, because everything else is built around them.
| Evolution | Materials required |
|---|---|
| Bioinsect → Bioinsect (Final Form) | 1 Bioinsect Core, 20 Sprite (Red), 10 Sprite (Pink), 2,500,000 Gold |
| Carrot → Carrot (Unleashed) | 1 Medication, 20 Sprite (Red), 10 Sprite (Pink), 2,375,000 Gold |
The Bioinsect Core comes from Bioinsect’s Trial, and the Medication comes from Carrot’s Trial. Run each unit’s trial to collect its evolution item, then spend the Sprites and Gold to complete both upgrades.

Once your two evolved Mythics are ready, the quest itself is a checklist of objectives spread across several game modes. You claim the base Prodigy only after all of them are marked complete.
| Objective | How to clear it |
|---|---|
| Complete East Town 1 time | Finish an East Town Story run |
| Clear a Boss Node on East Town difficulty 3 | Run the East Town Expedition and beat a boss node on Difficulty 3 |
| Participate in 1 Tournament | Enter any tournament (see the fast method below) |
| Collect 350 Mechanical Scrap | Farm East Town Expeditions |
| Evolve 1 unit | Any evolution counts |
| Complete Prodigy’s Trial | Beat Prodigy’s Trial on East Town |
| Clear 150 Waves with Bioinsect (Final Form) | Use the evolved Bioinsect across runs |
| Clear 150 Waves with Carrot (Unleashed) | Use the evolved Carrot across runs |
Mechanical Scrap is the biggest time sink. Running the East Town Expedition on Difficulty 3 yields roughly 52 scraps per run, so expect around seven runs to reach 350. Teaming up with a friend speeds this up considerably.
Tip: The tournament objective only asks you to participate, not win. Enter a Solo Tournament and let the enemies walk past immediately so the match ends fast. That checks the box without a real fight.
Claiming Gohan and rolling the Unbound trait

Note: You do not need Unbound to evolve Prodigy, but it is the best trait to chase before locking in your build.
Evolving Prodigy into Prodigy (Rage)
| Material | Amount |
|---|---|
| Rage Catalyst | 1 |
| Sprite (Red) | 20 |
| Sprite (Pink) | 20 |
| Sprite (Purple) | 20 |
| Sprite (Rainbow) | 10 |
| Gold | 2,250,000 |

Prodigy (Rage) stats and how to confirm the evolution worked
After the evolution, the unit changes name to Prodigy (Rage) and gains new animations, passives, and its signature active ability. You can verify it by placing the unit in a lobby and checking the stat card and ability tooltips.
| Stat | Value at max upgrade |
|---|---|
| Base damage | 57,169 |
| SPA (speed per attack) | 6.5s |
| Range | 31.7 |
| Elements | Light, Physical |
Its active ability, Father and Son Spirit Energy, fires at a chosen point in range for 10 seconds. Enemies inside it take 75% of the unit’s damage every second, which adds up to a 750% total damage nuke. The unit stops attacking normally while the ability is channeling, and it runs on a 90-second cooldown per player.
Its passives include Hidden Potential, which transforms the unit into its Prodigy Transformation on Upgrade 3 and adds an area-of-effect hit every few regular attacks. Between the high base damage and the channeled nuke, Prodigy (Rage) currently ranks among the top DPS options in the game, alongside the other evolved Secret units like 8th Sword (Berserk), Crow (Black Fire), and Shadow (Divine).
