Fisch: How to Get the Titanium Rod in The Deep Update

Everything you need to craft the Titanium Rod at the Ancient Archives, from Level 250 to the full ingredient list.

Everything you need to craft the Titanium Rod at the Ancient Archives, from Level 250 to the full ingredient list.

The Titanium Rod is one of the standout pieces of gear added to Fisch in The Deep update, released on August 8, 2026. It is a crafted rod with infinite maximum weight, a wide control bar, and a built-in slash passive, which makes it a strong pick for handling heavy fish and for long AFK grinding sessions.

Quick answer: Reach Level 250, then craft the rod at the Ancient Archives anvil using 1 Titanium Shaft, 1 Titanium Reel, 5 Refined Scrap, and 200,000 C$.

Titanium Rod crafting requirements

The rod is crafted at the anvil inside the Ancient Archives. You cannot buy it or receive it as a quest reward. Before the recipe becomes available to you, you must be at experience Level 250. Here is the full cost.

Titanium Shaft1Complete the Sledge NPC questline in The Deep
Titanium Reel1Complete the Forge Hand Marcus quest in The Deep
Refined Scrap5Drops from Crushed Diving Helmets and in the Outer Deep

Reach The Deep first

Every crafting ingredient comes from The Deep, an underground biome added in this update. To reach it, head to the northernmost edge of the map and swim below the boat sitting above the coordinates -194, 130, -4669.

You also need a Deep Survey Device to explore the area. You get it by interacting with the NPC on that boat. Without it, you will not be able to move through the zones where the ingredients are found.

Get the Titanium Shaft from Sledge

The Titanium Shaft is the longest part of the process. It comes from the Sledge NPC, found near the 1P-4 beacon in the Outer Deep. Talking to Sledge starts a five-quest chain that you must finish in order.

QuestObjectives
Restoring IP-425 Chitin Plate, 20 Salinga Scrap, 1 Refined Scrap, 1 Hardened Chitin, and install the Reinforced Housing in Sector IP-4
Scrap ExtractionCatch a Broken Flashlight and a Bent Harpoon
Armored ShellsCatch three Big or larger Devil Scorpionfish and turn in 15 Chitin Plate
Heavy MetallurgyCatch a Crushed Diving Helmet and turn in 30 Chitin Plate
Master Smith’s HonorTurn in 5 Hardened Chitin and 5 Refined Scrap

Note: The Devil Scorpionfish for the Armored Shells quest spawn in the Lower Deep during nighttime with clear weather, so plan that step around those conditions.

Get the Titanium Reel from Forge Hand Marcus

The Titanium Reel comes from a single quest given by the Forge Hand Marcus NPC. To find him, reach the Bounty Tracker NPC, then swim in the opposite direction toward a white structure.

His quest, Bearing Reinforcement, asks you to hand over 30 Chitin Plate and 12 Salvage Scrap. Once you deliver both, you receive the reel.

Farm 5 Refined Scrap

You need five Refined Scrap for the final recipe, separate from any used inside the Sledge questline. Refined Scrap drops from Crushed Diving Helmets, and it also appears as a general drop in the Outer Deep. Set aside enough so you are not short when you reach the anvil.

Craft the rod at the Ancient Archives

Travel to the Ancient Archives and interact with the crafting anvil inside. This opens the recipe menu with the rods you can currently make.
Select the Titanium Rod recipe. With Level 250 reached and all four ingredients in your inventory, the option becomes available.
Confirm the craft to spend the 200,000 C$ along with the Titanium Shaft, Titanium Reel, and 5 Refined Scrap. The rod is added to your inventory once the craft completes, which is how you confirm it worked. If the recipe is greyed out, you are either below Level 250 or missing one of the materials or the C$.

Titanium Rod stats and abilities

StatValue
JournalThe Deep (5,000 XP)
Lure Speed100%
Luck180%
Control0.3 (+30%, 60% bar width)
Resilience75%
Max KgInfinite
Durability200
Line Distance120 m

The rod’s passives are what set it apart. It has a 20% chance to apply the Titanium mutation, worth a 9x multiplier. Every 0.5 seconds there is a 35% chance to slash for 5% Progress while stunning the fish for 0.15 seconds, and the rod adds a flat +30% Progress Speed on top of that.

It can fish in Lava, Noxious Fluid, and Brine pools. The infinite Max Kg means it can reel in anything in the game, and the wide control bar makes it forgiving during the reeling minigame. Adding the Heron enchantment raises the control value to 0.5, which pushes it further as an AFK farming rod.

Once you have gathered the shaft, the reel, and enough Refined Scrap, the only barrier left is the Level 250 gate and the 200,000 C$. Clear those and the Titanium Rod is yours to keep.
