Grab a Glider from Luggage, leap off the SHORE mountain, and glide 100 meters straight to unlock the Cargo Outfit.

The Hang Gliding Badge is one of the new accolades added with PEAK’s The Final Ascent update, and it asks for a single clean feat. You need to fly 100 meters using the Glider without touching the ground. The Glider itself works like the Umbrella, deploying automatically when you step off a cliff, so the real challenge is finding one and giving yourself enough height and stamina to cover the distance.

Quick answer: Open Luggage on the SHORE until you find a Glider, climb to about the halfway point of the mountain, then equip the Glider and jump off facing the crashed plane while holding forward (W). Cross 100 meters in the air and the badge unlocks.

What you need before attempting the badge

Two things decide whether this attempt works: having a Glider in hand and having enough stamina to stay airborne. The Glider consumes stamina while you fly, and if that bar empties mid-air, you fall and die. That is why the SHORE is the ideal spot, since you can safely end the run right after the badge pops.

How to find the Glider

The Glider drops from Luggage, specifically Regular Luggage, Big Luggage, and Explorer’s Luggage. Ancient Luggage will never give you one, so skip those when you are hunting for it. It is a large, hard-to-miss item once it appears inside a case.

Spawn into the SHORE and open every non-Ancient Luggage you can find. The drop is not guaranteed, so it may take several attempts across separate runs before a Glider shows up.
How to Get the Glider in PEAK
Pick up the Glider when the “E Pick up” prompt appears. Keep it in your inventory and avoid crafting or dropping it before your flight.

How to fly 100m and unlock the badge

The Glider deploys on its own the moment you walk off a cliff while holding it, just like the Umbrella. You are not gaining lift like a jetpack; you are falling forward with control, so height and direction matter more than anything else.

With the Glider in your inventory, climb to roughly the midway point of the SHORE mountain. You need this altitude so the 100 meters of horizontal travel finishes before you reach the ground.
How to Use the Glider & Get the Hang Gliding Badge in PEAK
Turn around so you are facing the crashed plane, equip the Glider in your first slot, and jump off the cliff. The Glider activates automatically as you leave the ground.

Hold forward (W on keyboard) and keep gliding in one straight line. The Hang Gliding achievement pops the moment you clear 100 meters in the air.

How to confirm it worked

You will see the Hang Gliding achievement notification appear on screen once you pass the 100-meter mark. The badge then attaches to your Scout’s equipped sash, and completing it grants the Cargo Outfit as its cosmetic reward. Since you attempted this on the SHORE, you can end the game safely right afterward.

Why the badge might not unlock

  • You ran out of stamina in the air, which drops you before hitting 100 meters. Play on Tenderfoot or Peak for a larger stamina pool, including bonus stamina.
  • You jumped from too low, so you touched the ground before covering the full distance.
  • You only opened Ancient Luggage, which never contains a Glider.
  • You were on a Custom expedition, where badges cannot be earned.

Note: Beyond the badge, the Glider is genuinely handy for traversal. If you have the stamina, deploy it from the top of each mountain as you move into the next biome to cover long horizontal gaps quickly. Just remember you are still falling, only with more control over where you land.
