PEAK: How to Unlock the Jester Badge by Opening 3 Clown Luggage

The exact trigger, the daily luggage reset, and the dynamite hazard you need to plan around.

The exact trigger, the daily luggage reset, and the dynamite hazard you need to plan around.

The Jester Badge in PEAK is one of the newer accolades tied to Clown Luggage, a special container that scatters across the mountain alongside the game’s regular loot boxes. Earning it comes down to a single, repeatable action, but the way these boxes spawn and behave makes the timing matter.

Quick answer: Open three Clown Luggage boxes during one expedition. The badge unlocks the instant you open the third, and it works on any difficulty, including Tenderfoot.

Jester Badge requirement and reward

The condition is fixed. You must open three Clown Luggage boxes within the same run. Progress does not carry between expeditions, so all three openings have to happen before you escape or die out of that climb.

Once earned, the badge sits on your Scout’s equipped sash and its unlocked cosmetic becomes available. You can confirm it on the Accolades screen in the pause menu, where a locked badge normally shows a greyed-out icon with a question-mark name.

The dynamite hazard when opening Clown Luggage

Clown Luggage is not always safe to open. Some boxes contain active dynamite that detonates a few seconds after you crack it, and others release harmless confetti or a usable item instead. Because you cannot tell before opening, treat every box as a potential explosive.

Note: Injury or death after opening does not undo credit. The badge counts the act of opening, so if a box explodes, the open still registers toward your three. The real risk is the blast killing you before you reach the next box.

Open each box, then immediately move away to avoid the explosion. Keep healing items on hand, and try not to stand between two luggage boxes when you crack the first one.

Why Clown Luggage locations change every day

The mountain in PEAK is built from a daily seed that resets every 24 hours. Luggage spawn points are locked to that seed, which means Clown Luggage positions stay constant for everyone on the same day but move completely once the map rotates.

Because of that, there is no permanent map of guaranteed spots. Any location that works today may hold nothing tomorrow. If a run comes up short on Clown Luggage, the fastest fix is often to wait for the reset and try a fresh seed.

On the days these boxes do appear, they tend to sit in the same kinds of places. Look on rocky ledges just off the main path, tucked behind trees or under stone platforms, and along narrow walkways near hazards in the later zones.

ZoneWhere to search
Tenderfoot / early routeRocky ledge to the side of the main path, hidden behind a tree trunk
The CitadelUnderneath a stone platform partway up the main tower chamber
The CitadelOn a metal walkway near the end of the level, guarded by a swinging spiked ball

Treat these as spawn patterns rather than fixed coordinates. They describe the type of spot Clown Luggage favors, which helps you scan efficiently on any seed instead of relying on a single day’s layout.

How to confirm the Jester Badge unlocked

Open your first two Clown Luggage boxes wherever you find them, moving clear of each one right after in case of dynamite.
Open a third Clown Luggage in the same run. The badge triggers immediately on this open, so you do not need to escape the island first.
Watch for the on-screen unlock, then open the Accolades screen from the pause menu. The Jester Badge should now show its full icon and name instead of a greyed-out question mark.

Common reasons the badge does not trigger

  • You opened fewer than three Clown Luggage in the same expedition. Regular, Big, Explorer’s, and Ancient Luggage do not count toward this badge.
  • You split the openings across two different runs. The counter resets when the expedition ends.
  • The current seed has fewer than three Clown Luggage in reach, so you ran out before hitting the total. Wait for the daily reset and try a new layout.

Line up all three openings inside one climb, respect the dynamite, and the Jester Outfit is yours the moment the third box pops.
