Alyosha is a 4-star Electro polearm character you can add to your roster in Genshin Impact 7.0 at no wish cost. He is handed out during the opening of Snezhnaya, the Cryo Archon’s homeland, so any Traveler who plays through the region’s main story walks away with him.
Quick answer: Start and progress the Snezhnaya Archon Quest Everwinter Without Mercy. Alyosha joins your account automatically after the conversation about Project Stuzha in the town of Sretomorovszk, near the start of the second quest chapter.
What you need before you start
The only real requirement is reaching Snezhnaya and beginning its Archon Quest. This is the same free-character pattern used for earlier region debuts, such as Aino in Nod-Krai, where progressing the story is enough to earn the unit outright.

How to confirm Alyosha is unlocked
You know it worked when the game shows the character acquisition screen at the end of the Project Stuzha dialogue and Alyosha appears in your character list. From there he can be built and slotted into a team like any other unit.
If Alyosha has not appeared yet, you have not reached the correct point. He is granted after entering Sretomorovszk during Gunfire in the Silent Lands, not at the very start of Everwinter Without Mercy. Keep pushing the main story until the Project Stuzha scene plays.
What Alyosha does and how to get more copies
Alyosha is a support character built around buffing his team. He raises Super-Conduct damage, hands out ATK buffs to party members, and can heal his teammates, which makes the free copy a solid all-round pickup for reaction teams.
Because he is a 4-star, unlocking his Constellations noticeably improves his performance. You can pull for extra copies on the first-phase banners of version 7.0, where he features as a boosted 4-star. The more Constellations you stack, the stronger he becomes as a support piece.
