Fortnite: How to Get the Phantom Blade Zero Soul Skin for Free

The Soul Outfit, Sanguine Pickaxe, and Back Bling unlock free with any Phantom Blade Zero purchase on the Epic Games Store.

The Soul Outfit, Sanguine Pickaxe, and Back Bling unlock free with any Phantom Blade Zero purchase on the Epic Games Store.

Fortnite’s tie-in with Phantom Blade Zero turns a single game purchase into a full three-piece Locker set. Buy the action game from S-GAME on the Epic Games Store, and the Soul Outfit lands in Fortnite alongside the matching Sanguine Pickaxe and Back Bling. The reward is live now, so the only thing standing between you and the skin is making sure the purchase and your Fortnite account share the same login.

Quick answer: Buy or pre-purchase Phantom Blade Zero on the Epic Games Store using the same Epic account you play Fortnite with, then open Fortnite and check your Locker. The Soul Outfit and Sanguine set appear as a gift-with-purchase at no extra cost.

What the Soul bundle includes

The set leans into Phantom Blade Zero’s dark, blood-soaked kung fu aesthetic, so you get a coordinated outfit and gear rather than a skin on its own. Every eligible purchase grants all three cosmetics together.

Soul is the game’s playable warrior, a swordsman framed for his master’s murder and left with 66 days to live. That character is exactly who you bring into Fortnite with this outfit.

Unlock the Soul bundle through the Epic Games Store

The grant went live on August 11th at 10:00 PM ET, so any qualifying purchase now delivers the cosmetics automatically. Here is the process from start to finish.

Open the Phantom Blade Zero page on the Epic Games Store and buy or pre-purchase the game. A pre-purchase counts just the same as a full purchase.
Confirm you are signed in with the same Epic account you use for Fortnite. If the purchase and your Fortnite login do not match, the cosmetics have no way to reach your Locker.
Launch Fortnite and open your Locker to find the Soul Outfit, Sanguine Pickaxe, and Sanguine Back Bling. They arrive as a full set ready to equip.

If you already owned the game before the reward went live, you do not need to buy anything again. The grant applies to eligible purchases from that point onward, so an early pre-purchase still qualifies. The bundle stays available this way for as long as Phantom Blade Zero remains on sale on the Epic Games Store.

Using the skin on PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch

The set is not locked to the platform where you bought the game. Once the cosmetics are attached to your Epic account, they show up in Fortnite anywhere that account is signed in or linked. Buy Phantom Blade Zero on PC, and you can still equip Soul on a PS5 or Switch.

On console, the connection depends on your platform account being linked to the Epic account that made the purchase. Verify those links ahead of time so you are not troubleshooting when you want to play. Once the outfit is in your Locker, you equip it from the Character screen’s Outfit tab like any other skin.

Buying the Soul set in the Item Shop instead

If you have no interest in Phantom Blade Zero itself, the same three cosmetics come to the Fortnite Item Shop for direct purchase during a limited window. After the window closes, this route is gone.

A return to the shop after November 5th has not been confirmed, so treat that removal date as the last chance to buy the set outright.

If you already bought the skin, then buy the game

Say you grab the set for 1,600 V-Bucks in the Item Shop, then later decide you want Phantom Blade Zero after all. You will not be handed the cosmetics a second time. Instead, buying the game triggers a one-time grant of 1,600 V-Bucks inside Fortnite, so you are not paying twice for the same look.

That refund only covers outfits bought within the last 12 months. A purchase older than that does not qualify for the V-Bucks return.

Note: Do not refund the game to keep the freebie. If you refund your Phantom Blade Zero purchase on the Epic Games Store, Fortnite removes the Soul Outfit, Sanguine Pickaxe, and Back Bling. If you received the 1,600 V-Bucks grant instead of the cosmetics, that amount is taken back as well.

The whole thing comes down to one detail worth double-checking before you spend anything: buy on the account you actually play Fortnite with, and everything else falls into place in your Locker.
