Mean Streets of the Despicable is a Snezhnaya world quest chain in Genshin Impact 7.0 that pulls the Traveler into the feud between the Lunchkins and the Izmaylovs, then into the mystery of the Shadow Realm. Finishing it unlocks the Rankova Zorya region. The core of the chain is rescuing Gureva, a Lunchkin operative held inside the Izmaylov base, before the trail leads to a showdown at the Train Boneyard.
Quick answer: Complete “Gunfire in the Silent Lands” to unlock the chain, start it at the bridge in Zolnyy, tail Lorie’s train to grab the “sample,” infiltrate the Izmaylov base to free Gureva and hide from The Butcher, then enter the Train Boneyard, defeat Vasiliy “Oedipus” Izmaylov, and report back to Zmei.

How to unlock Mean Streets of the Despicable
The chain becomes available once you finish Gunfire in the Silent Lands, which is part of Archon Quest Chapter VII: Act I “Everwinter Without Mercy.” Clearing it grants the Snezhnayan Journal, and the quest marker appears afterward.
To avoid the quest being interrupted mid-way, finish the second objective of Great Deeds on the Tundra in the same Archon Quest act before you begin.

Fast travel to the teleport waypoint in Zolnyy and walk a few steps east to reach the Kvasnik Beverage Shop. From there, head south to the settlement’s bridge point to trigger the opening scene. If you prefer a train approach, the nearest station is Snezhnograd’s Central Station.

Burn the Storehouses and Stables walkthrough
This is the first subquest. You step in when a Snezhnayan gang harasses locals, and the small scuffle quickly opens up into the wider Lunchkin–Izmaylov conflict.

Disputes Without Honor and Humanity walkthrough
The second subquest confirms the Izmaylovs are trying to open the Shadow Realm under their boss. Your job is to rescue Gureva, the Lunchkin operative who has gone silent inside their base, then follow the lead to its conclusion.

Enter the Train Boneyard and defeat Vasiliy

You’ll know the chain is finished when the final conversation with Zmei ends, the rewards are delivered, and the Rankova Zorya region becomes accessible.
Quest rewards
Both subquests hand out identical rewards, and the totals across the full chain add up as follows.
| Reward | Total (full chain) |
|---|---|
| Primogem | 60 |
| Mora | 40,000 |
| Hero’s Wit | 4 |
| Mystic Enhancement Ore | 6 |
| The Orderly Grid of Secrets (furnishing) | 500 |
| Adventure EXP | 250 per subquest |
How long the quest chain takes
| Pace | Time to finish |
|---|---|
| Speedrun (auto dialogue, skipping) | 1 hr 15 min – 1 hr 30 min |
| Normal pace (cutscenes, combat, exploration) | 2 hr 15 min – 2 hr 30 min |
If you plan to enjoy the character interactions and the new Snezhnaya mechanics along the way, set aside closer to the longer window. Rushing dialogue and clearing enemies quickly brings it down to about an hour and a quarter.
