Every requirement, fragment quest, and boss phase you need to finish the White Birch Snowgrave World Quest in Snezhnaya.

An Ark That Used to Be a Soul is a Snezhnaya World Quest tied to the Eye of Graeae, the companion device the Traveler carries through Genshin Impact 7.0. The quest splits into two parts. First you rebuild the Eye’s lost power by collecting three fragments, then you chase Aksinya into the Shadow Realm and fight the Primordial Human, also called the Belyi Tsar.

Quick answer: Finish the In the Dwelling of Life, Hesperides of Love and Hate, and On One Side a Palace, On the Other a Tomb quest chains to gather all three Eye of Graeae fragments, talk to the Eye at the Ruined Hvergelmir, open the door to the Court of Bliss, then defeat Aksinya and the Primordial Human in the Shadow Realm to complete the quest.

Unlock requirements

The quest appears in the Snezhnayan Adventure Journal once you clear the Archon Quest Gunfire in the Silent Lands. That journal automatically logs the quest along with the other Snezhnaya World Quests. If it is not showing up, one of the conditions below is still missing.

Collect all three Eye of Graeae fragments

The Eye’s power is divided into three pieces, and none of them sits at a fixed map marker. Each fragment is granted for finishing one full Snezhnaya World Quest chain. You can confirm your progress by checking your inventory, where each completed chain adds a Pebble.

Quest chainFragment receivedWhere it starts
In the Dwelling of LifePebble of Serpentine AlgaeNear Morepesok, where you rescue Nastya and head toward Flamefeather Valley
Hesperides of Love and HatePebble of Freezing HeartEast of the Abandoned Shrines Domain, leading to the Hesperides estate
On One Side a Palace, On the Other a TombPebble of Crystalline EssenceNortheastern Snezhnaya, at the tomb of the White Tsar

Note: In the Dwelling of Life is itself a long chain that includes missions such as A Sprout Without a Gardener and Transplanted From “Yesterday” to “Tomorrow”. You must finish the whole chain, not just the opening mission, before the fragment registers.

Reach the Eye of Graeae and open the Court of Bliss

With all three fragments collected, teleport to the nearest waypoint at the Pale Crown Palace and follow the marker to the Ruined Hvergelmir. Talk to the Eye of Graeae, which explains that it wants to learn the truth behind its own creation.
Walk to the entrance leading to the Court of Bliss and select Enable. Choose “Yes, it’s time to return” when prompted. Picking “No” simply returns you to the palace, so pick Yes to continue.
Hold the designated control to consume Kresnik Energy and open the gates. Inside, Aksinya greets you and reveals the Primordial Human, the Belyi Tsar, and its experiments meant for a different world. She also warns that the Eye of Graeae cannot return to normal, then leaves.

Catch up to Aksinya through the Shadow Realm

Follow Aksinya using Freeze Marks. Aim and fire at each sigil to pull yourself across gaps quickly. She will jump into a portal before you can reach her.
At the end of the path, fire at the nearby Freeze Mark and drop into the portal to leap into the Shadow Realm and keep the chase going.
You catch up to Aksinya standing before the awakened Primordial Human. After the conversation turns hostile, defeat Aksinya. When she falls, she opens portals beneath you and drops you back into the Shadow Realm.

Defeat the Primordial Human

This fight uses the gun combat introduced across Snezhnaya, so bring a long-range weapon. The boss goes through several stages, and the key is knowing when its weak point is exposed.

Shoot the gold center in the middle of the Primordial Human with a long-range gun. Dodge its attacks and move to the cart on the right whenever you need healing.
Once its health drops to half, it summons nerves to drag the train toward itself. Do not panic and instead wait while a final protocol activates to help you out of the situation.
The protocol builds a path connected through the Eye of Graeae. Follow it around to get behind the Primordial Human, where its weak spot is located on its back.
At the end of the path, attack the exposed weak spot to defeat the boss. It and Aksinya then fall deep into the Shadow Realm.

Escape the Shadow Realm

As you try to ride the train back to the overworld, nerves shoot up and wrap around the vehicle, trying to pull you down with the defeated boss. Shoot the yellow section of each nerve until it detaches. These branches are marked, so they are easy to spot while you work quickly.

Once the train is free, you escape with Paimon and confirm that Goggles cannot be restored. The Primordial Human takes on the Belyi Tsar’s form, and it shares one last conversation with Aksinya as they fall endlessly through the Shadow Realm. The quest completes right after that exchange.

You know the quest is done when the final conversation between the Belyi Tsar and Aksinya ends, and the reward screen appears. If the boss still has its gold weak point covered, keep circling the protocol path until you reach its back, since damage to the front core alone will not end the fight.
