Keep the Door Locked (Anomaly): Every Rule to Survive the Night

The exact response to every knock, noise, and room event that decides whether you make it to morning.

The exact response to every knock, noise, and room event that decides whether you make it to morning.

Keep the Door Locked drops you into a small hotel room after dark and asks you to survive one night at a time. Visitors knock, monsters lurk outside the window, and the front desk hands you a “Home Safety Rules” pamphlet before leaving you to sort friend from anomaly. The rules themselves are short. The hard part is following every one of them, every night, without a single lapse before you go to sleep.

Quick answer: Open the door for humans and lock it on anomalies, keep at least one verified human in the room before you sleep, open the curtains whenever you hear noise outside, and hide under the bed the moment the Door Breaker charges your door. Break any one of these and the run usually ends. You can play it on the official Roblox listing for Keep the Door Locked.

Every survival rule and the correct response

Each rule maps to one clear action. Learn the pairing and most nights become a matter of repeating the same checks in order.

Screen every visitor before you open the door

Guests knock throughout the night looking for shelter. Some are ordinary humans you need to let in. Others are anomalies wearing a friendly face, and opening for one is a fast way to lose. Use the “Peek” option on your door to look at whoever is standing outside.

Peeking gives you three choices. Open Door lets the visitor in, Lock the Door refuses them, and Leave steps away so you can check the camera without committing to a decision. Watch for the tells that mark an impostor: a head twisted at an unnatural angle, arms swinging without stopping, or a low guttural voice that does not sound human.

Note: a calm story or a polite plea is not proof of safety. Pressure and persuasion are exactly how anomalies get inside, so trust the visual and audio tells over anything they say.

Use the CCTV camera to confirm a threat

The peephole only shows the front. The CCTV feed shows the visitor’s back and the area around them, which is where the real evidence hides. Lock the door immediately if the camera reveals the visitor holding a knife, sprouting wings, or standing next to a dead body.

The same feed also tracks the Door Breaker, a knife-carrying monster that moves from room to room. Checking the camera before you answer a knock tells you whether a normal guest is outside or something you should never let near the door.

Never sleep alone in the room

Surviving a night means ending it with a human sleeping in your room. Let a verified human in, then interact with the bed to sleep. The human leaves in the morning, so each new night you have to find another safe companion before it is time to rest.

Two mistakes end the run here. If you let an anomaly in and then go to bed, a bad ending cutscene plays. If you sleep with no one in the room at all, the Bathroom Monster comes out and kills your character. Confirm a real human is present before you touch the bed.

Open the curtains when you hear noise outside

Any time a sound comes from outside the window, open the curtains and look. Doing so makes the Window Monster panic and flee. You lose a few Sanity points for the scare, but that is the intended trade.

To open the curtains, move to the edge of the window and press the interact button when the prompt appears. Ignore the noise and the monster breaks the glass and attacks, which ends the playthrough on the spot.

Hide under the bed when the Door Breaker attacks

On any night, the Door Breaker can smash through your door and rush inside. You cannot stop it at the door. Before it breaks through, get under the bed and stay there. The monster spends a few seconds inspecting the room, finds nothing, and runs off.

Wait out the Spider Event before sleeping

During the first few nights, spiders appear on the ceiling and crawl over the area above your bed. Do not approach the bed while they are there. Wait for them to disappear on their own, then head over and sleep. Rushing to the bed underneath them puts your character at risk instead of ending the night cleanly.

Protect your Sanity all night

Sanity is the core survival bar and represents your character’s mental health. Scares such as opening the curtains on the Window Monster chip away at it. If Sanity ever drops to zero, the game is over, so treat the small losses as a resource you are managing rather than something to trigger carelessly.

How to know a night went right, and why runs fail

A night counts as survived when you sleep with a verified human present and wake up to that guest leaving in the morning. Holding off the Door Breaker rewards you with the “Door Held” badge, a clear sign the hide worked. Get through enough nights and you reach one of the game’s several endings, each shaped by the choices you made along the way.

The failures are just as specific. Sheltering an anomaly and then going to bed plays a bad ending cutscene. Sleeping with an empty room brings out the Bathroom Monster. Ignoring the window lets the Window Monster break in, and letting Sanity hit zero ends the run no matter what else you do right. Follow each rule with its matching response and the hotel becomes survivable, one night at a time.
