The Truth is the second ending in Keep the Door Locked (Anomaly), and it is the game’s positive conclusion. Instead of losing your mind or getting stuck in the hotel, your character walks out of a building crawling with monsters and heads straight toward a glowing exit. Reaching it takes more than survival. You have to make three specific choices on and after Night 10, in the right order, or the game quietly routes you into a different finale.

Quick answer: Survive to Night 10, refuse the Front Desk manager’s exit key by picking “Lock the Door,” then open the door for the golden skeleton, grab the key it drops in the hallway, and use it on the door marked “Enter Truth” the next day.

What you need before Night 10

The Truth only becomes available if you actually make it through ten nights alive. That means keeping your Sanity meter above zero the entire run and never breaking the sleep rule. You must let a real human into your room before you sleep, since a monster in the bathroom will attack you overnight if you sleep alone.

Throughout each night you also need to follow the hotel’s rules exactly. Check the hallway camera on your laptop before answering a knock, compare it against what you see at the door, and reject anything that fails an anomaly check. Letting in the wrong visitor drains Sanity and can end your run long before Night 10 arrives.

The Truth ending steps on Night 10

When Night 10 begins, the Front Desk manager will come to your door and offer you what looks like the exit key, while hinting that there is no real way out. Do not accept it. Choose the “Lock the Door” option to turn the key down. Taking it sends you toward a different outcome.
A short while after the manager leaves, a new visitor knocks. This is the golden skeleton, and its name shows up as “???” in the game. Pick the “Open Door” option and step out of your room into the hallway.

The skeleton will have collapsed on the ground a few meters down the hallway from your door. Walk over to it and pick up the key lying next to the body. This is the item you actually need for the exit.
Call the Front Desk manager to report what just happened with the skeleton. After that, finish the night as normal.
The following day, leave your room and walk the hallways looking for a door with “Enter Truth” written on its lock. Approach it and interact using the E key, which is the default door interaction. This is the final action that triggers the ending.

What happens when it triggers

Opening the “Enter Truth” door drops you into a narrow passage that leads to a second door. That door glows with a bright golden light, standing in for the exit. As you walk toward it, a line of text appears at the bottom of the screen: “You do not know where this door will lead. Yet, with every step closer, an inexplicable sense of comfort settles in.”

You know it worked when the “ENDING 2” banner appears as you approach the glowing white door. Completing the sequence awards the Ending 2 badge and 15,000 Cash. The Truth is one of four endings in the game, alongside The Ritual, Escape Route, and Hallway, and each one grants its own badge.

Why the ending fails to trigger

The golden skeleton only appears if you refuse the manager’s key on Night 10. If you accept the exit key instead of choosing “Lock the Door,” the skeleton never knocks and this path closes. Skipping the “Open Door” prompt when the skeleton arrives, or failing to pick up the key it drops, also leaves you without the item needed for the “Enter Truth” door.

Losing all your Sanity before Night 10, or sleeping without a human resident in your room, ends the run before you ever reach the decision. Treat every earlier night as a hard requirement, because the Truth sequence itself is short. The difficulty is surviving long enough to see it.
