Roblox Wonderland Black Screen: How to Fix It

The black screen in Roblox Wonderland shows up right after you finish the Tutorial Entrance level. Once it happens, it tends to repeat every time you try to load back in, leaving you stuck staring at nothing instead of collecting Lumens and dodging monsters.

Quick answer: Fully close Wonderland and restart it, or restart the entire Roblox launcher, so you rejoin on updated servers. Wait through the loading screen even if it takes longer than usual, and you should load into the level normally.

What triggers the Wonderland black screen

This is a problem on the developer side, not something wrong with your device. It appears after you complete the Entrance, the game’s tutorial level. It does not have to be your first run through that level, but once it triggers, it keeps triggering on the following loads.

The developers have tied the issue to hotfixes that were pushed to the game. Those hotfixes included changes such as slowing down the Mole (the Evil Wonder) and making the Bomb killable. A fix for the black screen has since been published, though some players still run into it on older sessions.

Restart onto updated Wonderland servers

Because the fix lives on the server side, the goal is to leave whatever session you started before the update and rejoin on a fresh one. A simple restart handles this.

Leave the current game completely. Do not just wait on the black screen, since that session is still tied to the older, broken state.
If closing and reopening the game alone does not help, quit the entire Roblox launcher so nothing from the previous session carries over. Then relaunch Wonderland.
Let the loading screen run. After the update, the loading step can take noticeably longer than before, so give it time before assuming it has failed.

How to know the fix worked

You will know the black screen is gone when the loading screen clears and you drop directly into the level, ready to gather Lumens and search for the exit. The slightly longer load is normal on the updated servers, so a short wait is expected rather than a sign of failure.

Note: If the screen stays black for more than a couple of minutes even after restarting the game and the launcher, that points to a deeper problem on that session. In that case, report it in the Wonderland Discord so the developers can look into it.

Once you are back in, you can get on with clearing the levels, including making it past the first chase on level three. Redeeming the current Wonderland codes gives you a bit of extra help as you go.
