Grow a Chicken Fighter: How to Get the 404 x Ash Fusion (Cycle of Ash)

The 404 Chick sits near the top of the current meta in Grow a Chicken Fighter, but its stock skill holds it back. The fix is to fuse it with the Radiant Fenghuang and carry over that chicken’s Cycle of Ash skill. The result is one of the strongest builds you can field right now.

Quick answer: Hatch both the 404 Chick and the Radiant Fenghuang, open the fusion menu, lock the Cycle of Ash skill on the Radiant Fenghuang, then confirm the fusion. Locking the skill guarantees Cycle of Ash transfers to the 404 Chick.

What the 404 x Ash fusion requires

You need two specific chickens before you can fuse anything. Both are extremely rare, so the bulk of the work is farming the right eggs and hatching them in volume.

Both chickens can also hatch from the Blazing Egg, which becomes available during the Hot Event. If Cursed Eggs or Royal Eggs are not cooperating, the Blazing Egg is a second route to either one.

Farm Cursed Eggs and hatch the 404 Chick

You cannot jump straight to Cursed Eggs. The game runs on a chain where each chicken produces the egg type you need for the next one. Work through it in order and swap chickens as soon as you unlock the better producer.

Deploy the Classic Rooster to generate Nest Eggs. Let it run while you play or AFK, and hatch Nest Eggs until you get a Cosmo Brat.

Put the Cosmo Brat to work. It has a 100% chance to lay Scratch Eggs, making it the most efficient early farmer. Hatch Scratch Eggs until you land an NPC Chick, which has a 12% chance from Scratch Eggs.

Deploy the NPC Chick to farm Cursed Eggs. It drops a Cursed Egg 80% of the time roughly every two minutes. Build up a supply, then hatch them until you get the Stone Face Chicken, which has a 19% hatch chance.

Fuse the Stone Face Chicken to boost its lay speed, then set it as your main Cursed Egg farmer. Stone Face has a 100% Cursed Egg drop rate, and at higher levels its timer drops to one Cursed Egg per minute. This is the setup you want for mass farming.

Leave Stone Face running and stockpile Cursed Eggs, then hatch them in batches. The 404 Chick is a Secret rarity chicken at under a 1% chance, so expect to open a large number of eggs before it appears.

Note: If the 404 Chick drops before Stone Face does, you can skip the Stone Face upgrade entirely and move straight to the Radiant Fenghuang.

Farm Royal Eggs and hatch the Radiant Fenghuang

The Radiant Fenghuang comes from Royal Eggs at a 1% chance, and it carries the Cycle of Ash skill you need for the build. The path reuses the Cosmo Brat, then branches toward a different rooster.

Deploy the Cosmo Brat again to farm Scratch Eggs. Hatch them until you get the Crest Rooster.

Use the Crest Rooster to farm Royal Eggs. It drops one 60% of the time. Hatch Royal Eggs until you get the Rooster of Fortune, which has a 100% Royal Egg drop rate.

Fuse the Rooster of Fortune to increase its lay speed, then farm Royal Eggs at full pace. Keep hatching until the Radiant Fenghuang appears.

Complete the fusion and lock Cycle of Ash

With both chickens in your flock, head to the fusion menu. This last part is short, but one action decides whether the whole grind pays off.

Set the 404 Chick and the Radiant Fenghuang as the two chickens in the fusion.

Lock the Cycle of Ash skill on the Radiant Fenghuang before confirming. This is the most important step. Locking the skill guarantees it carries over instead of being replaced by a random result. Unlocked fields are not guaranteed to copy, so check the preview screen before you commit.

Confirm the fusion. The result is a single fused chicken that keeps the 404 Chick as its base with Cycle of Ash attached. When you see that skill on the fused fighter, the 404 x Ash build is done. Fusion consumes the donor, so the Radiant Fenghuang is spent in the process.

Note: Fusion cost scales with the base chicken’s level, so fusing earlier keeps the price lower if you do not need the extra levels first.

The two eggs are the hard part, not the fusion itself. A fused Stone Face turns Cursed Egg farming into a reliable one-per-minute loop, and a fused Rooster of Fortune does the same for Royal Eggs, so leaning on those two farmers is the fastest way to reach both chickens and lock in the Cycle of Ash payoff.
