What the Justiciar’s Stone does

Equipping the Justiciar’s Stone adds a passive effect that increases the gold dropped by defeated enemies. Because gold funds weapon and sidearm upgrades, merchant purchases, and Tarstone leveling, this stone pays off across an entire playthrough rather than for a single fight.

It pairs naturally with the Gloombound Stone, which boosts Gloom gains instead of gold. That second stone is found nearby in the Stones of Remembrance graveyard, so it is worth grabbing on the same trip if you want to speed up both currencies at once.

Where to find the Justiciar’s Stone in Fainweald

Travel to eastern Fainweald and make your way toward the Broodshell Swarm encounter. The Tarstone cavern is just past this spot, so use it as your landmark.

Find the cave entrance covered by shallow water and ringed with white flowers. Run through the flooded mouth of the cave and continue into the dark, narrow passage beyond it.

Follow the passage to the glowing, cross-like stone structure at the back. Interact with it to pick up the Justiciar’s Stone. The on-screen prompt “NEW TARSTONE ACQUIRED – JUSTICIAR’S STONE” confirms the pickup, and the stone is listed with the “Lustrous” rarity tag.

Tip: The interior is dark and cramped, so aim straight for the light coming off the stone structure rather than wandering the side walls.

How to equip and confirm the effect

Open your Inventory and go to the Tarstones tab, then slot the Justiciar’s Stone into your loadout. A Tarstone must be equipped for its effect to apply, so simply owning it is not enough. Once it is slotted, the extra gold shows up in the amount enemies drop after you defeat them.

Upgrading the gold boost at the Tarforge

The Justiciar’s Stone gets stronger when you level it at the Tarforge in Marrow Keep. Before that option appears, you need Etching Needles, found in a chest in the Glutted Mire swamp near the Magdalena boss arena.
