Waxwell is a candle-themed Toon in Dandy’s World, recognizable by his purple wax body, dripping wax that reads like hair, a white wick, and a flame on top. He joined the roster in the August 8, 2026 update alongside a new Twisted variant, bug fixes, and other tweaks. Buying him is gated behind two progression checks plus an Ichor cost, so you cannot pick him straight from the character menu.

Note: Goob itself is a Rare Toon you buy from Dandy’s shop after clearing 3 Mastery Quests on Scraps and paying 1,750 Ichor. If you do not own Goob yet, unlock him first, since three of his Mastery Quests are part of the Waxwell gate.
How to hit 50% Research on Twisted Waxwell
Twisted Waxwell is a Rare Twisted that can spawn randomly on any floor. You raise his Research percentage by finding and picking up Research Capsules during runs where he appears.
You only need to reach the halfway mark, not a full 100%. Because his spawns are random, plan for several runs and grab every capsule you can while he is present on the floor.
Complete 3 Goob Mastery Quests
Once Goob is unlocked, play as him and clear any three of his Mastery Quests. His objectives include traveling 100,000m, surviving floors, using his ability, and picking up and using 80 items.
Fold these into runs where you are also collecting Ichor and hunting Twisted Waxwell so all three requirements advance together instead of separately.
Buy Waxwell at Dandy’s shop
Earn Ichor by completing machines, quests, and floor activities during your runs. Try not to spend it on other things while you are saving toward the purchase.
How you know it worked: Waxwell appears in your Toon selection and can be equipped for runs. If the Purchase button stays greyed out, one of the gates is unmet, either your Twisted Waxwell Research is below 50%, fewer than 3 Goob Mastery Quests are done, or you are short on Ichor.
Waxwell stats and Ignite ability
Waxwell is a support-leaning Toon built around speed and skill checks, with weaker stamina and stealth. His stat spread is below.

His main ability, Ignite, lights his flame and clears his Tired II debuff for 10 seconds. While ignited he leaves a flame trail as he moves. Any Toon who touches that trail gains the Ignited buff, which makes their ability cooldowns recover twice as fast for 5 seconds.
There are hard limits to the buff. It does not affect Waxwell himself, and Ignited cannot stack. The ability runs on a 60-second cooldown, so time it when teammates are close enough to walk through the trail and actually use the cooldown boost.
