Steal an Egg: Every Pet, Rarity, and Income Per Second

A full breakdown of the pets you can hatch in each biome, what they earn, and how the Index pays you for finding them.

A full breakdown of the pets you can hatch in each biome, what they earn, and how the Index pays you for finding them.

Pets are the entire economy in Steal an Egg. Every one you hatch sits in your garden pen and pays out cash every second, and that trickle is what funds treadmill upgrades, trails, and access to the biomes holding better eggs. More than 70 pets exist across the map right now, spread across ten sources ranging from the starter Forest all the way up to the Cosmic biome.

Quick answer: The highest-earning pet currently in the game is the Divine Unicorn from the Cosmic biome at $1B per second, followed by La Vacca Saturno Saturnita at $30M and the Secret Cerberus from the Volcano biome at $8M.

Steal an Egg rarity order, from Common to Divine

Rarity determines the color of a pet’s name in the UI and roughly tracks how long its egg takes to hatch. Longer hatch timers on map eggs almost always mean a higher tier waiting at the end. The ladder runs Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic, Secret, Eternal, Divine, and Cosmic.

Rarity is not the same thing as size. A huge Common is still a Common, and size only affects carry weight while the pet is an egg plus how large it looks in your pen. Income per second is tied to rarity and the roll you get, not the kilogram number.

Forest and Lake biome pets

These are the two starter areas, and the pets here exist to bankroll your first $1,000 garden upgrade rather than to carry your account. The Forest tops out at Brr Brr Patapim; the Lake goes one step further with the Legendary Axolotl.

Desert and Jungle biome pets

The Desert is where Mythic pets first appear, and it is also the first biome with a Cosmic entry. The Royal Sphinx at $280k per second is a genuine jump over anything in the earlier zones, though its egg carries a long hatch timer. The Jungle skips Common and Uncommon entirely, so even its weakest pet, the Chimpanzee, starts at $90.

Snow and Volcano biome pets

Snow is a clean six-pet biome that ends on the Cosmic King Mammoth at $400k. Volcano is smaller but far more top-heavy, because Cerberus is a Secret-tier pet paying $8M per second — a twenty-fold leap over the Cosmic King Mammoth and the point at which most players stop worrying about early-game income entirely.

Abyss Ocean, Prehistoric, and Cosmic biome pets

These are the late-game zones, and the numbers scale accordingly. Abyss Ocean holds two Cosmic pets, Prehistoric holds two more in the millions, and the Cosmic biome contains just two entries — one of which, the Divine Unicorn, is the single strongest earner in the game at $1B per second.

Limited egg pets

A small pool of pets does not come from stealing at all. These hatch from premium Brainrot Eggs bought with Robux in the in-game shop, and they rotate, so a pet available now may not be purchasable later.

Note: Bananita Dolphinita is only Epic on paper, but its $10k payout beats every Legendary in the Forest, Lake, Desert, and Jungle. Rarity labels are not a reliable proxy for income across biomes.

How the Index pays you for each new pet

Discovering a pet species for the first time unlocks a one-time claim in the Index. Rewards include cash and Speed, and finishing a full biome’s Index awards a unique weapon. These claims do not collect themselves, so it is easy to leave a pile of free Speed sitting unclaimed while you keep grinding runs.

Hatch a pet you have never obtained before. Only new species register; duplicates of something already in your Index do nothing here.
Open the Index from the button on the left side of the screen. Your discovered pets appear in their biome groupings.
In-game screen showing the SELL area alongside the Shop and Index buttons in Steal an Egg
The Index and Shop controls sit alongside the SELL area while your pets generate income.
Tap Claim on any glowing entry. The entry stops glowing once the reward lands, which is your confirmation it worked.
Repeat after every new species. Gold and silver color variants register as the base species, so they will not open a fresh Index slot.

Turning duplicate pets into better ones

The Fuse Machine takes three pets of the same type and combines them into a stronger result. Gold and silver variants count as the same type as the base species, so you can mix them into a fuse. The output is usually an upgraded pet, though it can occasionally be an egg instead — read the preview screen before confirming.

Fusing also clears pen slots, which matters more than it sounds. If your pens are full when you return with a high-value egg, you cannot place the pet that egg produces without dropping something first. Clearing weak duplicates before a rare run avoids that.

Why a pet’s listed income may not match yours

Income figures shown on the hatch toast can vary from one hatch to the next because pets roll within a range. Mutations and size add further variation on top of the base species. Treat the numbers above as the yardstick for comparing one species against another, then check the actual value on your own hatch before deciding which pets to equip.

Eggs also keep hatching while you are offline, so a long-timer Cosmic or Secret egg placed before you log off will be waiting when you return. Nighttime speeds up hatching for eggs already sitting in your garden pens.

The roster keeps growing — the game was created on July 25, 2026 and has been updated repeatedly since, with a new zone attached to an event scheduled for August 22. New biomes bring new species, and limited Brainrot Egg pets cycle in and out of the shop on their own schedule. The safest habit is to check the value your server displays on hatch, keep the strongest earners equipped, and claim every Index entry as it lights up.
