Steal an Egg is a Roblox tycoon game with a straightforward hook. You train your character, move through a series of dangerous biomes, grab valuable eggs, and rush them back to your base before a guardian or another player takes them. Once an egg is safe, it hatches into a pet, and those pets pay for the upgrades that let you reach harder areas.
Quick answer: Walk up to an egg and press E to pick it up, carry it to your Pen, and place it to hatch a pet. To reach the next biome, raise your movement speed on the treadmill until you meet that biome’s speed requirement, or the guardian will catch you and fling your egg away.

The core steal-and-return loop
Every run follows the same pattern. Eggs appear around a narrow map split into several biomes. You approach one, press E to pick it up, and then your only job is getting it home. Reaching your Pen, or safe zone, is what actually counts. If you lose the egg on the way back, the trip earns you nothing.
After an egg reaches your Pen, place it and wait for it to hatch. Hatch times vary, and some rare eggs take hours. An egg’s size and mutations can also change how long it needs before it opens.
You can start playing directly in the official Roblox experience. Practice the pickup and return before pushing into biomes where the guardian can catch you.

Add to Google Preferences →Biomes and their speed requirements
There are nine biomes, and each one gates you behind a recommended speed. Enter an area below its threshold and the biome’s guardian can catch you, ragdoll you, and drop whatever egg you were carrying. Speed is the single stat that decides how far you can safely travel.
| Biome | Recommended speed |
|---|---|
| Forest | No minimum |
| Lake | 900 |
| Desert | 10K |
| Jungle | 40K |
| Snow | 170K |
| Volcano | 700K |
| Abyss Ocean | 2.5 million |
| Prehistoric | 17 million |
| Cosmic | 700 million |
Start in the Forest, which has no requirement, and only move up once your speed comfortably clears the next tier. Pushing into a biome early usually ends with a lost egg and wasted time.
How to raise your speed
You build speed by training on the treadmill at your base. The treadmill can be upgraded, and higher upgrades give you more steps, so each training session raises your speed more efficiently. This is where most of your early progress comes from.

Your base has a separate upgrade track, but upgrading the base does not raise your speed. It increases how many pets you can store, which matters more later once your collection grows.
Training does not have to be dead time. The treadmill has a built-in Reels feature that lets you scroll short videos while you run. You can comment on clips and share them with other players through a link, which keeps long sessions from feeling repetitive.
Trails for extra speed
Trails are cosmetic effects that trail behind your character, but they also give a speed boost. There are ten of them, ranging from Common to Divine rarity, and you buy them from a dedicated Shop. Since speed controls which biomes you can enter, a good trail paired with treadmill training gives you a real advantage.

Eggs and the five-minute reset
Eggs are the whole point of the game. They spawn across the biomes, and you carry them back to hatch them into pets. One detail matters more than any other for beginners. Rare eggs are not locked to the highest biomes. A highly valuable or Secret egg can show up in a low-level area, and when it does, several players may sprint for the same one.

Eggs do not stay on the map forever. Spawns reset every five minutes, and after each cycle the map closes for 13 seconds before players can enter again. If you are hunting a specific rare egg, watch that timer so you are ready when a fresh batch appears.
Guardians act as speed checks
Every biome has a guardian that protects its eggs. Think of each one as a speed gate. If your speed is too low for the area, the guardian can catch you and ragdoll you away. Getting caught while carrying an egg also makes you drop it, handing other players a free chance to grab it.

This is why speed matters so much once you leave the Forest. Meeting the recommended number for a biome is the difference between a clean grab and a wasted trip.
Tools for stealing from other players
The game gives you two ways to interfere with rival carriers. Both are most useful around spots where players cluster over rare eggs.
| Tool | Effect |
|---|---|
| Baseball bat | Hitting another player triggers a ragdoll effect and flings them away, letting you take the egg they were carrying. |
| Bear trap | Placed on the ground; any player who steps on it is trapped for five seconds and drops their egg, which you can then pick up. |
Pets and how they earn money
Pets are your main progression system. You get them by hatching eggs, then place them in your base where they generate income over time. There are 78 to collect, and each biome features pets that match its theme, such as prehistoric creatures in the Prehistoric biome and lava or magma pets in the Volcano.
How much a pet earns depends on its size and mutations, so two pets of the same type can be worth very different amounts. Collecting versions with better sizes and mutations directly raises your base’s income. If you end up with a pet you do not want, you can sell it at the Sell Shop for money or trade it with other players.
That loop is the heart of the game. Steal eggs, hatch pets, spend the income on treadmill and trail upgrades, and use the extra speed to reach biomes with better eggs. Keep speed rising ahead of the next biome’s requirement, and progression from Forest to Cosmic becomes a matter of steady, safe deliveries rather than luck.
