Fortnite Override: Every Gold Sprite and What Each One Does

All 11 Gold Sprite variants in Chapter 7 Season 4, their effects, rarities, and the only reliable way to find them.

All 11 Gold Sprite variants in Chapter 7 Season 4, their effects, rarities, and the only reliable way to find them.

Gold Sprites are the first special variant to return in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4, and there are 11 of them live in the game right now. Each one keeps the ability of its base Sprite and adds a shiny gold finish plus a bonus that rewards aggressive play. If you’re building out your collection, these are the shiny versions worth chasing.

Quick answer: Gold Sprites drop from Cheat Codes found across the map in Battle Royale or Zero Build. There’s a very small chance any Cheat Code you crack yields a Gold variant, and they never appear in bot lobbies. Your best odds come during Golden Hours on Saturday, August 22, starting 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET, when Gold spawn rates are boosted.

All 11 Gold Sprites, effects, and rarities

Every Gold Sprite carries the same passive ability as its standard version. The rarity determines how often it shows up, with Rare variants appearing most and Mythic variants being the toughest pulls.

The Gold Klombo and Gold Crown sit at the top of the rarity ladder as the two Mythic variants, with Gold Jackrabbit right behind as the lone Legendary. Epic may add more Gold Sprites as the season goes on, so the roster can grow beyond these 11.

How to get Gold Sprites

Gold Sprites come exclusively from Cheat Codes scattered around the map. There are no fixed spawns and no guaranteed locations, so this is a numbers game. The more Cheat Codes you find and crack, the more chances you get at a Gold variant.

Drop into either Battle Royale or Zero Build. Both modes give Gold Sprites a chance to appear, so pick whichever you play best.
Hunt for Cheat Codes across the island. Each one you open has a small chance to produce a Gold version of a Sprite instead of the standard one.
Secure and extract any Gold Sprite you find so it’s added to your collection permanently. If you lose a run before extracting, that Gold variant does not carry over.

Note: Bot lobbies do not spawn Gold Sprites at all, so grinding them there is a dead end. Stick to real matches if you want any shot at the gold finish.

The Gold Crown Sprite exception

The Gold Crown Sprite doesn’t play by the same rules as the rest. It cannot be found from Cheat Codes at all. The only way to get it is to take a Cheat Master Crown Sprite to Level 5, which then turns it into the Gold version. Because the Crown Sprite levels up only by winning matches, this is the most demanding Gold variant to earn.

What Gold Sprites do differently

On top of the base ability listed in the table, every Gold Sprite grants 3x bonus XP from eliminations. Pair that with a Victory Crown and each knockout feeds a large chunk of progress into your Battle Pass. That makes Gold Sprites a strong fit for aggressive players who rack up eliminations and want to level up fast.

Golden Hours boost spawn rates

The single easiest window to farm Gold Sprites is Golden Hours, a weekend Power Hour running Saturday, August 22, that raises Gold spawn rates. It begins at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET. Outside of that window the rates sit at their normal, much lower baseline, so if you want to complete the set quickly, plan your session around the event and crack as many Cheat Codes as you can while the boost is active.
