The Override Battle Pass is the reward track for Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4, and it is built around characters pulled from different corners of gaming history. Eight outfits are spread across 16 pages, with a Sonic the Hedgehog crossover sitting right at the front and a set of bonus pages waiting at the end for anyone who finishes the whole thing.
Quick answer: The Override pass costs 800 V-Bucks (about $8.99) or comes free with an active Fortnite Crew subscription, and it hands back 800 V-Bucks across its pages as you level up.

Override Battle Pass cost and how to buy it
The pass is purchased from the Passes tab in-game once Chapter 7 Season 4 goes live on August 20, 2026. Pick Override from the home tab, then either pay with your V-Bucks balance or subscribe to Fortnite Crew at $11.99 per month, which unlocks the pass automatically along with the other Crew benefits.
Gifting works, but only with real money — V-Bucks gifting is turned off for passes. If you cancel Crew, every cosmetic you already unlocked stays in your Locker, but you stop earning new pass rewards once the billing period ends.

How the pages and level gates work
Rewards are grouped into pairs of pages, and each pair is themed around one character. A pair opens once your account hits the level listed for it, and the final item in every pair — usually an alternate outfit style — only appears after you have unlocked everything else on those two pages.
| Character | Pages | Unlocks at |
|---|---|---|
| Sonic the Hedgehog | 1–2 | Included with purchase (rest at Level 2) |
| Wrixel | 3–4 | Level 10 |
| Phantom | 5–6 | Level 10 |
| Mali | 7–8 | Level 35 |
| Bastian | 9–10 | Level 35 |
| K1ttyW1ns | 11–12 | Level 60 |
| Grace Crowne | 13–14 | Level 60 |
| Geno | 15–16 | Level 85 |
Sonic is the only licensed crossover inside the pass. The other collaborations announced for the season, including Mega Man, Street Fighter, Persona 5, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Pac-Man, and Kingdom Hearts characters, are Item Shop releases rather than pass rewards.
Sonic the Hedgehog rewards (Pages 1–2)
Buying the pass gives you the Sonic outfit immediately. Everything else on the first two pages, including the Tails Sidekick that hovers alongside you in matches, opens at Level 2.

Super Sonic is handled through a built-in emote rather than a Locker toggle, so you swap into the golden form mid-match instead of picking it before you drop.

Wrixel rewards (Pages 3–4)
Wrixel is the season’s customizable outfit, assembled from pixel cubes with more than a million possible combinations of colors, faces, outfits, and accessories. The styles on these pages lean on familiar Fortnite faces, and the whole pair opens at Level 10.

Launch week bonus rewards
Buying the pass during launch week adds a separate bundle on top of the reward track. It centers on an extra Grace Crowne outfit along with a matching helmet, pickaxe, Back Bling, and Glider. Epic has not spelled out the full claim conditions this season. In Chapter 7 Season 3, the equivalent rewards landed automatically for players who owned the pass and logged in during launch week, and an active Fortnite Crew subscription counted because it unlocks the pass for you.
Why a reward will not unlock
There are only two things standing between you and any item here. A page pair stays sealed until your account reaches the level attached to it, so hitting Level 60 does nothing for Geno’s pages at Level 85. And the final style on each pair — Super Sonic, Arctic Stealth Phantom, Ageless Geno, and the rest — will not appear until every other reward on those two pages is claimed, even if you are far past the level requirement.
Note: The bonus pages behave the same way, except the prerequisite is the whole pass rather than a single pair. Leaving one cosmetic unclaimed anywhere in the main 16 pages keeps all five bonus sets locked.
Because most of the season’s gaming crossovers live in the Item Shop rather than the pass, the 800 V-Bucks you earn back across these pages is worth holding onto. Sonic is the only licensed character you can grind your way to for free once the pass is paid for — everything else with a familiar name attached will cost V-Bucks separately as the shop rotates through Chapter 7 Season 4.
