Rex Infernus: How to Get the Warden’s Hat

Ride Web Mothers at Pack-a-Punch until the well ejects the hat.

Ride Web Mothers at Pack-a-Punch until the well ejects the hat.

Webs in Rex Infernus will grind your movement to a halt the second a Web Mother or Deathspinner tags you. The Warden’s Hat is the oversized pickup that removes that slow entirely, and you pull it out of the Pack-a-Punch well rather than buying it or crafting it.

Quick answer: In the Nexus Forge, use the Void Claw to ride Web Mothers and get around 75 kills from their backs. Then Void Claw a Web Mother at the Pack-a-Punch well so it leaps inside. The well kills it and spat out the hat. Interact with the hat to wear it.

Warden’s Hat requirements in Rex Infernus

The drop only happens at Pack-a-Punch. You cannot start this anywhere else on the map. Open the Nexus Forge first, then grab a Void Claw from a green pedestal so you can mount a Web Mother and later yank one into the well.

Web Mothers need to be in play, so this is a mid-round task. Starting the farm around Round 16 and finishing near Round 25 is a reliable window. Bring Armor Plates. Enemies still hit you while you sit on the spider’s back.

RequirementRole in the drop
Nexus Forge Pack-a-PunchThe well is the only place the hat can appear
Void ClawMounts Web Mothers and pulls one into the well
Web MothersThe ride targets you farm, then sacrifice
Armor PlatesYou take full damage while mounted
Splash weaponsClear zombies fast from the spider’s back
Brain Rot with Big GameCharms the Web Mother so it keeps you mounted longer

Echo-12 with the Backlash Launcher, 1911s, Ray Guns, and Warden’s Blight all work well for the mounted kills. You want wide splash, not a precise single-target gun. Brain Rot with the Big Game Major Augment is optional, but it is the cleanest way to stay on a Web Mother without getting thrown off mid-farm.

Farm mounted kills on Web Mothers

The well ignores a Web Mother that has not been fed enough kills. The threshold sits around 75, and most runs hit that number after about three mounts. Get the kills first. Do not drag a fresh Web Mother to Pack-a-Punch and expect it to jump.

Stay in the Nexus Forge and wait for a Web Mother. Fire the Void Claw at it to mount. You ride on its back until it throws you off or you hop down.

Kill zombies from that seat with a splash weapon. Keep Armor Plates topped up, because anything that can reach you will still land hits. Brain Rot with Big Game helps here if the Web Mother keeps bucking you off.
Dismount when that Web Mother is spent, then repeat on the next one. Three Web Mothers is a typical farm. If you only scraped a handful of kills, keep going before you try the well.

Force the Pack-a-Punch well drop

Once the kill count is in, the rest is a single pull at the well. The Web Mother has to leap into Pack-a-Punch on its own after you hook it. You are not stuffing a corpse in by hand.

Lure a Web Mother onto the Pack-a-Punch platform in the Nexus Forge. Keep it close to the well. If you are still short on kills, grab a few more from its back right here before you hook it.
Use the Void Claw on that Web Mother. A ready Web Mother jumps into the well and dies. If it stays put, stop and farm more mounted kills. The leap is the check that tells you the count is high enough.
Watch the well spit out the Warden’s Hat. Walk up and interact with it to put it on. The hat is huge and obviously out of scale, so you will see it the moment it lands.

Warden’s Hat pickup and web immunity

The hat is on you as soon as you interact with it. There is no extra craft step and no second machine. If you can see it on your character, the drop worked.

Web shots from Deathspinners and Web Mothers no longer slow you. You still take the damage from those webs. You just keep your full movement speed, which matters most on high rounds when super sprinters are already closing the gap.

Why the Warden’s Hat does not drop

If the Web Mother refuses to leap into the well, the kill count is still too low. Mount again, get more kills, and retry the Void Claw pull at Pack-a-Punch. Doing the hook in the wrong area will also fail, because the well in the Nexus Forge is the only valid dump point.

Getting thrown off early is the other common stall. Without Brain Rot and Big Game, a Web Mother can dump you before the farm is done, which is why splash weapons and extra mounts matter. Once the hat is on, webs become a damage-only problem, and the slow is gone.
