Rex Infernus: How to Complete the Mister Peeks Dance Off Easter Egg

The Mister Peeks Dance Off is a repeatable side Easter egg on Rex Infernus, the final round-based Zombies map in Black Ops 7. It hides a golden cassette tape in the map’s dig sites, then drops you into a neon dance-floor minigame where hitting the on-screen button prompts pays out perks, tools, and other high-tier loot. Get it right and you also earn the Survivor’s New Groove Calling Card.

Quick answer: Grapple the bone-and-mud dig sites between the Shadowsmith Temples until a golden-outlined cassette tape drops, load it into the cassette player in Widow’s Wine, then copy each button prompt on the dance floor to spawn a loot trophy back at Nexus Forge.

What you need before starting

The entire Easter egg depends on the Void Claw grapple gun. You open the dig sites with it, and it is the only reliable way to pull loot out of them. The Void Claw sits behind a doorway at the bottom of Nexus Forge inside a glowing green orb, and it only becomes reachable after you activate Pack-a-Punch. Until you have the grapple in hand, the dig sites cannot be excavated.

Note: the cassette tape is a random drop. A single dig site can fail to give it, so plan to grapple several sites across a round or two rather than expecting it on the first try.

Find the golden cassette tape

Head to the ground between the Shadowsmith Temples and look for dig sites. They appear as piles of bones stuck in mud, and several are scattered across the map’s outer areas.

Aim the Void Claw at a dig site and fire to open it. Each dig you crack has a chance to spit out loot, and one of the possible drops is the cassette tape.

Keep grappling dig sites until a tape with a golden outline appears. Walk over it to pick it up. You are carrying the tape once it is in your inventory, so head to the cassette player next.

Load the tape in Widow’s Wine

Travel to the Widow’s Wine area and find the cassette player tucked inside one of the zombie spawn windows. It is easy to walk past, so check the boarded window frames where zombies climb in.

Interact with the cassette player to insert the tape. This immediately teleports you out of the main map and onto a neon dance club floor to begin the minigame.

Beat the dance minigame

The dance floor is a quick-time event. Button prompts flash on screen and you have to copy each one before its timer runs out. Every correct input adds to your score, shown as a running points total with an accuracy percentage. The closer you stay to a perfect run, the better the payout at the end.

Accuracy is what decides your reward tier. A near-perfect performance can hand you perks and tools, while a sloppy run only returns points and salvage. Because the whole thing is repeatable, you can grind another cassette and try again for a better result.

Claim the trophy and Calling Card

When the sequence ends, a “Success!” prompt confirms you cleared it and teleports you back to the main map. A golden trophy spawns in the Nexus Forge area, and interacting with it lets you take the loot inside. You will see standard options to grab the reward, break it down for salvage, or equip it directly.

Completing the Dance Off also unlocks the Survivor’s New Groove Calling Card, so a single clean run gives you both loot and a cosmetic reward. Since the minigame is repeatable, you can run it again each time you dig up a fresh cassette.

If the tape or trophy does not appear

Two things stop this Easter egg cold. If nothing comes out of the dig sites, confirm you have the Void Claw equipped, since regular weapons will not open them and the tape only drops from a successfully grappled site. If you insert the tape but come away with only points and salvage, that is the expected result of a low-accuracy run rather than a bug, so grab another cassette and aim for a cleaner set of prompts to earn the perk and tool rewards.
