How the Museum Works in Storage Hunters: Open World (Roblox)

Display valuable items to earn hourly gifts, a permanent Luck boost, and the rare Showcased and Artifact marks.

The Museum in Storage Hunters: Open World turns your rarest finds into a steady income stream instead of a one-time payout. Put a valuable item on display and it keeps generating gifts while it sits there, all while raising your overall Luck for future storage pulls. The item never leaves your ownership, so displaying is a low-risk way to earn passive rewards.

Quick answer: Head to the Shopping Mall, enter the Museum in the middle, talk to Julian, choose “Show me the Museum,” and pay the Diamond fee to display an item. Return every hour to collect the gift it produces.

What the Museum does

Displaying an item grants a base Luck boost, and higher-value items grant a larger boost. That Luck carries over into what you find in storage units, so the Museum works as a long-term progression system rather than a quick cash grab.

The item you display stays yours the entire time. You can withdraw it at any point without losing it, and Trophy items such as your Gavel can also go on display. Because value directly affects your bonuses, the Museum slot is best reserved for the rarest object you own.

How to display an item at the Museum

Travel to the Shopping Mall and locate the Museum building in the center. You can find the experience on its official Roblox page if you need the direct link.

Enter the Museum and interact with Julian. Select the “Show me the Museum” option to open the display interface.
Choose the item you want to display and pay the required Diamond fee. Rarer items cost more Diamonds to place, but they also attract more generous visitors, so the higher fee tends to pay off in better gifts.

Come back roughly every hour to collect what the visitors leave behind. Each display holds only one gift at a time, so you need to collect it to keep new visitors coming.

Museum gifts and reward chances

Visitors periodically drop a gift for each displayed item. A gift can be money, Diamonds, or a Lucky Drink, and pricier displays lean toward more generous rewards over time. The rare exception is the Showcased mutator, which lands on the item itself rather than paying out currency.

Showcased and Artifact mutations

When you receive a Museum gift, there is a rare chance it marks your displayed item as Showcased. A Showcased item gains bonus Luck equal to half its own Luck value again, a +50% boost that applies for as long as it stays on display.

If a Showcased item remains on display long enough, it may be taken into the permanent collection and marked Artifact, which adds a further Luck boost on top. Both marks are permanent. They stay on the item even after you withdraw it from display or sell it.

Note: Not every item is worth a Museum slot. Some finds return more if you sell them outright, so keep the display for the single rarest, most valuable object you can spare.

Building your own museum in your base

Beyond the mall Museum, you can construct a dedicated museum inside your own base to showcase rainbow, rare, and secret items. A clean way to organize a base is a four-quadrant layout built around a central fountain, with a personal loft, a shop, a museum, and a garage each taking a corner.

A two-story white build reads as marble and gives the museum a display-hall look. On the exterior, a valet parking lot and a fenced dinosaur pen, holding a T-Rex, Brachiosaurus, and Triceratops, fill out the grounds.

Wall choices carry small per-grid costs, so it helps to know the prices before you lay out a large floor plan.

Wall typeCost per grid
Basic Wall$2
Wood Wall$2
Glass Wall$2
Brick Wall$1
Half Wall$1

Inside, the first floor works well with a reception desk, a Rainbow Items area on the left, and a Secrets area on the right. Upstairs, glass walls let you display rare Accessories and limited-edition pieces on tables while keeping them visible from below.

Tip: To make a decorative palm tree glow, place an Upward Spotlight directly underneath a Decorated Palm Tree so the light catches the trunk. The Decorated Palm Tree runs $356 and the Upward Spotlight $5,060, and the pair works nicely around a central fountain.

One constraint to plan around: on console you have less freedom to alter and rotate blocks than on PC or mobile, which can leave items like a wall-mounted canoe floating instead of sitting flush. If precise placement matters for your layout, building on PC or mobile gives you more control.

Whether you use the mall Museum for passive Luck or build a showcase hall of your own, the goal is the same. Put your best items on display, collect what visitors leave, and let those Luck bonuses compound into better storage finds down the line.
