Steal an Egg: How the Fuse Machine Combines Duplicate Pets

What you need, how the three-pet merge works, and when fusing duplicates pays off in Steal an Egg.

The Fuse Machine in Steal an Egg turns spare copies of a pet into a single stronger one. Feed it three identical pets and it merges them into one result that earns the same or more Cash per second, with a chance to roll a mutated version that pays out much higher.

Quick answer: Bring three copies of the exact same pet to the Fuse Machine at your base, drop them into the slots, and press Fuse. The three pets are consumed and replaced by one upgraded pet.

What you need before fusing

The machine only accepts three copies of the same pet. You cannot mix different pets together. Collecting three duplicates is uncommon, especially while you are moving through new areas, so the Fuse Machine tends to matter most once you have played long enough to build up a stock of repeat pets.

The machine sits at your base, near the pen and treadmill. There is no cooldown or timed unlock. You can use it at any point as long as you are holding three matching pets.

How to fuse three pets

Pick up the three matching pets from your base so you are carrying all of them to the machine.
Walk to the Fuse Machine and place each pet into the provided slots.
Press the Fuse button to start the merge. All three input pets are consumed, and one new pet takes their place.

What the fusion produces

The result earns an income rate that is similar to or higher than the pets you put in. Using rarer pets improves the odds of getting a better creature out the other side, so the quality of your inputs shapes the payoff.

Fusions can also produce a mutated pet, which generates several times more income than the pets it came from. The roll is not guaranteed. A mutated input does not carry its mutation into the result, so putting mutated pets into the machine risks losing them for a plain output. Keep your mutated pets out of the Fuse Machine.

Note: Because the three inputs are destroyed in the process, fusing is a one-way trade. You get one pet back, not three.

When fusing is worth it

Fusing is best used to clear out low-tier duplicates that are not doing much for your income. If your three copies happen to be the strongest pets in your base, leaving them placed and unfused earns you more overall. Check your total money per second before and after a planned fuse, and only fuse when the remaining pets can still fund your upgrades.

SituationFuse?
Three copies of a weak, low-income petYes, turn clutter into one stronger earner
Three copies that are your top earnersNo, leaving them placed earns more
Any pet that is mutatedNo, the mutation is not passed on

Think of the machine as a way to control how many duplicate pets pile up in your base, with a small chance to hit something valuable. It confirms the merge worked when the three inputs disappear and a single new pet appears in their place, ready to be placed for income.
