How to Fish Roulette Wheel: Placing Bets and the 35x Green Payout

The roulette wheel in How to Fish, the physics fishing-and-shooting game from Dazed Games, is not a cash table. You stake a physical item, spin, and the color you pick decides whether the wheel hands back something more valuable or takes your item away. It lives inside the Lucky Bait Casino, and understanding how the bet is set is the difference between a quick payout and a wasted fish.

Quick answer: Drop an item on the casino’s betting table to set the wager value, press E on the color you want, and let the wheel spin. Green pays 35x the item’s value as a sellable item; red and black pay 2x.

Reach the Lucky Bait Casino and place a bet

Climb the stairs up to the Lucky Bait Casino, which sits on the fourth island. The entrance leads straight into the room that holds the roulette table.

Drop a valuable item onto the green betting surface marked “Place items here.” The wheel reads that item’s value as the size of your wager, so a cooked fish worth more sets a bigger bet.
Press E on the color prompt you want to back. The table shows a bet prompt for each color, such as “Bet on Black” at x2, and pressing the key locks in that choice.

Watch the spin. If your color loses, the item you placed disappears from the table. If it wins, the wheel returns a payout item that you carry away and sell to a vendor for coins.

Bet colors, payouts, and odds

Each color trades frequency for size. Red and black hit far more often but only double your item’s value, while green is rare and pays out the full multiplier. The result always arrives as an item, never as loose cash.

Green is pure chance at roughly one pocket in 37, so there is no timing trick that forces it. It might land within a few spins or take dozens. Red and black are the sensible choice for slowly building coins after you have already sold a stack of fish.

Setting up a high-value green bet

Because green multiplies by 35, the item you stake decides how big the payout can be. The most valuable fish come from island 5, the volcano, and lava cooking pushes their worth higher before you wager. Hold each fish over the lava and pull it at peak value, since leaving it until it turns solid black destroys the catch and drops its value to zero.

Press F to inspect a cooked fish and read its exact value before you commit it to the wheel. Lava cooking adds a fixed 1.5x, and that same multiplier also lifts the sale price of any fish you sell normally, so it is worth cooking everything.

ValueNumber
Green multiplier35x
Lava cooking multiplier1.5x
Minimum cooked bet for a 100,000 payout2,858
Raw fish value before cooking~1,906
Safer cooked target~3,200

To turn a green spin into a payout item worth 100,000, divide by 35, which sets a floor of 2,858 for the cooked item you bet. Aiming for around 3,200 after cooking builds a cushion, so a slightly imperfect catch still clears the mark instead of stranding you near 99,000. There is no bet cap, so a single sufficiently valuable fish does the whole job.

What a green win unlocks

The All in achievement triggers the moment a green result lands, regardless of how small the stake was. Rich! Millionaire needs you to sell something worth 100,000 or more, and the payout item from a large green wager can clear that in one sale. If you bet a fish above the threshold on green, a single lucky spin can feed both at once, but you must actually sell the returned item to close out Rich! Millionaire.

Mistakes that waste a green spin

  • Betting a fish below your target value on green. A cheap wager still unlocks All in, but the payout falls short of 100,000, so a rare green result is burned for nothing.
  • Overcooking the fish. Value climbs to 1.5x and then collapses to zero once the fish goes solid black, ruining the exact catch you were inflating.
  • Expecting green on a schedule. At one pocket in 37 it is entirely random, so keep the fishing loop running and let the odds come to you.

Used with restraint, the roulette wheel funds the next rod or a crate of dynamite. Sell weaker fish normally to bankroll more lures and spins, save only your highest-value cooked catches for green, and confirm each win by checking that the wheel handed back a payout item before you walk it to a vendor.
