Examination Events Schedule: Rolling Steel End Time and Countdown
Examination’s biggest update yet is live. Rolling Steel opened on August 28, 2026 and runs through September 24, giving players nearly a month to fight their way through its new content before it wraps.
Examination is a PvE horror shooter set inside a heavily irradiated nuclear facility that has been turned into a laboratory in the wake of the WE-30 outbreak, an infection that overran the city of Menlo. You drop in as one of the later waves sent to clear it, with the fate of the earlier waves left deliberately unexplained. It’s a heavy work in progress from creator MENLO-INFANTRY-DIVISION, and it still draws about about 10,000 players at a time, with more than about 40,000,000 visits and about 410,000 favorites to date.

Rolling Steel, which the developer bills as the biggest update yet, is the marquee event on the calendar. It began on August 28, 2026 at 5:00 PM ET (2:00 PM PT, 10:00 PM BST) and stays live until September 24, 2026 at 7:20 PM ET (4:20 PM PT), a window of nearly four weeks. It has been running a day in and has several weeks left on the clock.
This is a new-content update rather than a limited seasonal event, and it leans into a fresh combat challenge themed around Rasonia’s hardened forces — steel-tough enemies meant to test players who have already cleared the facility’s earlier threats. Interest has been strong for a project still in active development: more than about 14,000 players have marked themselves as going. Because the run stretches across most of September, there’s no rush to catch it in a single sitting; exact start and end times are shown in the schedule above.
No further events are on the calendar beyond Rolling Steel yet. As a passion project still in active development, the next major update doesn’t run on a fixed schedule — we’ll add it here once it’s announced.
