The Archives is DOORS’ replacement for The Rooms, and it is a far bigger thing than a reskin. It arrived on August 28th, 2026 as a free subfloor with its own sector system, a roster of new entities, more than ten new items, a second new subfloor called The Stairwell, and 35 achievements. The Rooms itself is gone from the floor select, and its achievements are now locked in a legacy list.
Quick answer: Step into any elevator and select The Archives. You will know it worked when the Forgotten Memories achievement pops on arrival.
How to enter The Archives and The Stairwell
Access runs through the elevator. Board one, pick The Archives from the floor list, and you are in. Rebirthing with a Lotus also drops you there, and the same Forgotten Memories achievement covers both routes. The Stairwell is separate and is reached through The Mines, which unlocks Going Down.
Every subfloor in DOORS is now permanently free, with one condition attached. You have to have discovered the subfloor yourself before it opens up to you.

Add to Google Preferences →Sectors, elevators, and 1,300 rooms
The Archives runs to 1,300 rooms and is split into lettered sectors rather than the old flat A- numbering. Door labels now read like C-048, F-027, or Z-038 depending on which sector you are in. An elevator appears roughly every 50 rooms and carries you into the next sector, and the boundary between sectors is a waiting room where you take a ticket from the Teller.
The blue-toned interiors are stuffed with archival clutter, and a lot of it is interactive. There are water dispensers, vending machines, escalators, printers, keyboards, and fish tanks. Cupboards work as hiding spots again, but many are packed with shelving and file holders you have to clear out before you can climb in, and some are damaged past the point of use.

Escaping is not a single fixed exit either. Door Z-50 is the clean way out and awards Z-50, while emergency exits spawn occasionally in certain sectors and grant Emergency Exit instead.
New entities in The Archives
The changelog lists nine new entities. Early previews only showed seven of them, so a couple of names were kept back until launch.

| Entity | What it does |
|---|---|
| Honcho | A flat, cardboard-like figure with a redaction bar for a head. Acts as a boss and runs a puzzle sequence. |
| Drone | Black humanoid shadows with sticky notes covering their faces. They attack if you get too close. |
| Forget-Me-Nots | Blue flowers with eyes that block a doorway until you finish a spot-the-difference puzzle. |
| Teller | Wheels for legs, a ticket puncher for a right hand, a serving screen for a face. Hands out Waiting Tickets. |
| Alma | A shadow with a human-like face. |
| Noise | A static-textured entity that crawls out of a TV. |
| Stem | A small entity that trails behind you and pops when thrown. |
| Creak | Tall, lanky, covered in fleshy holes, and shy. |
| Portrait | Mimics your movements. A Crucifix works on it. |
Discoloration, Currents, and the Fih also live in The Archives. The Fih are the fish in the tanks, and feeding one is its own achievement.
Honcho’s box-sorting sequence
At the end of sector J or earlier, the elevator to the next sector gets overridden and takes you to Honcho’s executive office instead. Walk up to the desk and a cutscene plays where Honcho tells you to sort boxes, then throws you down a pit and follows you in. From there you stack boxes with the correct numbers while he chases you. Getting caught is not a death — Honcho grabs you, throws you through the floor, and you carry on in the next sector.
What changed for A-60, A-90, and A-120
The three Rooms entities came back renamed and rebuilt, and two of them behave differently enough that old habits will get you killed.
| Was | Now | Behavior change |
|---|---|---|
| A-60 | Bash | Redesigned. No longer instantly kills an exposed player — it burns anyone in its path instead. |
| A-90 | Ransom | New jumpscare. If you moved, it demands 500 gold coins on a 1 minute 30 second timer. Miss the payment and you take 50 damage. |
| A-120 | Scribbles | Fully redesigned. |
Surviving each one has its own achievement: Carpet Burn for Bash, Limitless Paper for Scribbles, and Firewall for avoiding or disabling Ransom.
New items and the Vitamins rework
More than ten items came in with the update, and a good chunk of them are food. Drawers and chests are worth opening again too, since auto-gold collecting is back when you open one.

| Item | Use |
|---|---|
| Pizza | Edible. Heals you when eaten. |
| Pack Of Gween Soda | A multi-can drink pickup. |
| Waiting Ticket | Given to you by the Teller. Hand it back when the entity asks for it. |
| Lunch Box | Stores food items. |
| Paper Cup | Fill it with water, then drink. |
| Paper Plane | Throwable. |
| Fih Food | Used to feed the Fih in the Archives fish tanks. |
| Mug | A new pickup, and the item skin tied to Honcho. |
Vitamins got reworked at the same time. The speed boost is weaker but lasts longer, they now carry 5 uses, and health regeneration has been added back after being cut in The Hotel+ Update.
Note: Shakelights are sold from vending machines inside The Archives, and printers let you scan an item. Both are tied to achievements, so they are worth stopping for on a first run.

The Journal, new Hotel rooms, and other changes
The Journal is a new saving mechanic and the single most important addition outside The Archives itself. Alongside it, the Hotel picked up new rooms and side rooms, props there now come in different colors, you can sit on props on certain floors, and player movement animations were redone.

The Lobby has been redecorated in Archives styling, and a no-clip bug that let players slip through walls there has already been patched. The Admin Panel picked up several changes as well.
The Store has new item skins, including a Retro Journal skin that is now bundled into the Retro Bundle. The rest of the shelf covers Crucifix, Journal, Lockpick, Vitamins, Bandage Pack, Boxing Gloves, and Shears skins, priced in Knobs, with Stardust reserved for things like the Admin Panel and boosts.

One removal is worth flagging before you go looking for it. The Rooms has been pulled from the floor selection and is inaccessible for now, pending conversion into a vision. Anything you had not already earned in there is out of reach, since those achievements have been shifted into a Legacy section and can no longer be obtained.
The update was originally aimed at December 2025 before slipping to early 2026 and then to late August, and the extra time went into a subfloor that plays much less like a corridor endurance run. Its Roblox event listing stays open until October 1st, but the content is permanent — the sectors, the Teller’s queue, and Honcho’s office are not going anywhere once the event window closes.
