Star Wars Zero Company: How to Launch the Loose Lips Operation

The Courtsilius job costs 50 Intel, takes two operators, and opens a new tactical mission when it lands.

The Courtsilius job costs 50 Intel, takes two operators, and opens a new tactical mission when it lands.

Loose Lips is a non-combat operation on Courtsilius that pushes the Infinite Coil investigation forward. It shows up in the objective list as “Launch Operation: Loose Lips” during the Smugglers and Slugrats stretch of the campaign, and everything about it happens at the Holotable in the Den. There is no fight, no squad deployment, and no way to fail the shot math — you spend Intel, pick an approach, send two operators, and collect the payout.

Quick answer: Interact with the Holotable, open the Operations tab, select Loose Lips on Courtsilius, hit Execute, choose “Ask around,” assign two operators, and confirm. You will get “Operation Complete,” +3 Influence in Zone Aurek, and a new tactical mission on Courtsilius.

Loose Lips requirements: 50 Intel and two operators

Check these before you walk up to the Holotable. Intel is earned by finishing tactical missions and by scouting in the field, so if you are short, the operation stays greyed out until you bank more.

The briefing sets up why the job exists. The Coil has been working with the Slugrats, who run the subterranean canal system beneath Courtsilius and use it to move cargo they would rather keep hidden. Someone in the undercity knows what that cargo is for.

How to launch Loose Lips at the Holotable

From wherever you spawn in the Den, cross the hangar to the Holotable and interact with it. This is the same console you use for tactical missions and for checking Zero Company’s Influence, and it only lists what is available in the current cycle.

Switch to the Operations tab and find Courtsilius on the galaxy view. Select the Loose Lips icon to open its panel, which lists the 50 Intel cost and the two-operator requirement.
Press Execute and read the briefing, then press Continue. The game then asks how you want to handle the job with the prompt “How should we gather intel?”

Pick your approach. “Ask around” is the low-friction option and is flagged as gaining 3 Influence in Zone Aurek.
Assign two operators to the job and press Confirm Choice. Kabb Uppercut and Desi Raven are a clean fit for the bar-talk route, since the approach specifically calls for personable operators.

Press Continue, then Accept on the results screen to bank the rewards and close out the operation.

The three intel-gathering approaches

All three options finish the operation. They differ in how your team goes about it, and operations of this kind can shift bonds between squadmates or change how the enemy adapts, so the pick is not purely cosmetic.

ApproachWhat it does
Offer a rewardSpread word that Zero Company will pay for information about the Coil.
Apply some pressureLean on the undercity using operators who can be very convincing.
Ask aroundSend personable operators into an undercity bar to listen. Listed reward: gain 3 Influence in Zone Aurek.

Note: operators sent on operations are still your combat roster. If someone is carrying injuries you were planning to use on the next tactical mission, pick a different pair.

How to confirm Loose Lips worked

The results screen reads “OPERATION COMPLETE” and reports that your operators made friends and picked up something useful: Fathom, the leader of the Coil, will appear on Courtsilius in the caverns under the Takali Canal. Below that you should see two confirmations.

  • “New Tactical Mission Unlocked on Courtsilius”
  • “+3 Influence” (Zone Aurek, when you took the “Ask around” route)

Back out of the Holotable and the new tactical mission should be sitting on Courtsilius, ready to select. Influence accumulates per zone and unlocks Zone Rewards such as upgrades, utilities, and contacts, so the +3 is not throwaway.

If Loose Lips will not launch

There are only a few reasons the operation refuses to start, and none of them require a reload.

  • Not enough Intel. You need 50 banked. Run a tactical mission or gather information in the field to top up.
  • Fewer than two operators free. The job locks two slots, so anyone already committed elsewhere cannot be assigned.
  • You moved to a new cycle. The Holotable only shows what is available for the current cycle, and operations expire once their window passes. Tactical missions advance the cycle, so clear your Den business before deploying.

Because Loose Lips is what points Zero Company at Fathom’s movements beneath the Takali Canal, it is worth spending the Intel on before you burn a cycle on anything else on Courtsilius.
