The Storm Scout Sprite is the newest addition to the Chapter 7 Season 4 Override collection, and it turns Storm damage into a movement buff instead of a death sentence. It arrives on Saturday, August 29, 2026, timed to the Sonic Power Hours window, and it comes with two extra versions on the same day.
Quick answer: Play a Battle Royale match after 11AM PT / 2PM ET on August 29 and find the Storm Scout Sprite in the normal in-match Sprite pool — it spawns most often around high, mountainous ground — then extract it before the match ends so it locks into your collection.
Release time: Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 11:00AM PT / 2:00PM ET / 6:00PM UTC
Storm Scout Sprite release time by region
Override runs on a fixed weekly rhythm. Mondays are for cheat codes, Thursdays introduce new Sprites, and Saturdays host Power Hours. Storm Scout breaks the usual pattern by debuting on a Saturday, going live as the first Sonic Power Hours block opens.
| Region | Date | Time |
|---|---|---|
| PT (US West) | August 29 | 11:00AM |
| ET (US East) | August 29 | 2:00PM |
| BRT (Brazil) | August 29 | 3:00PM |
| UTC | August 29 | 6:00PM |
| BST (UK) | August 29 | 7:00PM |
| CEST (Europe) | August 29 | 8:00PM |
| JST / KST | August 30 | 3:00AM |
| AEST (Australia) | August 30 | 4:00AM |
| NZST (New Zealand) | August 30 | 6:00AM |
Sonic Power Hours itself runs in two blocks on August 29: 2PM to 4PM ET (6PM to 8PM UTC) and 9PM to 11PM ET (1AM to 3AM UTC). The Sprite is not limited to those windows, though. Once it is switched on, it stays in the pool for the rest of Override, so there is no need to sprint into a match the moment the timer hits zero.

Add to Google Preferences →How to find and keep the Storm Scout Sprite
Storm Scout is a standard base Sprite, not a special unlock. That means no purchase, no quest chain, and no Admin Panel entry is required for the regular version. You find it the same way you find every other base Sprite in Override.

Cheat Codes are the other route. Consoles scattered around the map can hand over specific Sprites when you enter the correct input, and Epic recently raised how often those code panels spawn, so they are easier to stumble across than they were at launch.
How you know it worked: after a successful extraction, the Sprite appears on your Sprite Collection page and in the Sprite Garden, with a level indicator from 1 to 5. If it is not there, the extraction did not complete before you were eliminated or the match ended.
All three Storm Scout Sprite versions
Three Storm Scout Sprites go live together. The base Epic-rarity version is the one you will actually see with any regularity; the Gold and Cheat Master versions are considerably rarer, and their exact drop rates have not been published.
| Version | Extra effect on top of Storm Scout’s ability |
|---|---|
| Storm Scout Sprite | None — the standard version |
| Gold Storm Scout Sprite | Increases XP earned from eliminations |
| Cheat Master Storm Scout Sprite | Every input at a Cheat Code console counts as correct, whatever you enter |

There is no working Lobby Hack code for Storm Scout. The Admin Panel has handed out several Cheat Master Sprites this season, which is why codes get circulated for every new arrival, but nothing has been confirmed for this one. Entering random strings does nothing, and any “guaranteed” code posted ahead of a Sprite going live is worth ignoring.
What the Storm Scout Sprite does
Take 10 points of Storm damage and the Sprite fires automatically, granting Overdrive and unlimited Energy. It is a rotation tool: instead of limping toward the safe zone on low health with no stamina, you get a burst of speed the moment the Storm starts chewing on you.
While Overdrive is active you get 25 percent more movement speed, 50 percent better air control, 15 percent lower gravity, 25 percent stronger jumps, and Energy that does not drain.
| Level | Overdrive duration |
|---|---|
| 1 | 12 seconds |
| 2 | 14 seconds |
| 3 | 16 seconds |
| 4 | 18 seconds |
| 5 (max) | 20 seconds, plus future Storm circles revealed |
Mastering it is where the real value sits. At level 5, Storm Scout forecasts the next Storm circle on your map, letting you rotate to the correct side of the island before anyone else can see where the zone is heading.
Note: the in-game description claims that levelling the Sprite lowers the amount of Storm damage needed to trigger it. The activation threshold currently sits at 10 damage at every level regardless, so treat the trigger as fixed unless Epic changes it.
What else changes during the August 29 Power Hours
The two Power Hours blocks are the best stretch to hunt Storm Scout, because everything else on the island tilts toward Sprite collecting at the same time.
- Sonic, Tails and Shadow Sprites spawn far more often, variants included.
- Sonic Power Sneakers have a boosted chest drop rate, giving you a fast rolling dash for crossing the map between spawn points.
- 1-Up Tokens and Portable Extractors show up as rare chest finds, which helps when you need an extraction on demand.
Because Storm Scout’s whole identity is speed, jump height and endless Energy, it stacks neatly with the Sonic-themed items floating around during the same window. Grab the Sprite early in a match, let the Storm clip you for 10 damage on your way in, and use the Overdrive burst to reach the extraction site before the circle closes.
