Palworld: How to Get the Explosion-Resistant Undershirt (Level 76)

The Legendary accessory nullifies all explosion damage for you and your active Pal, including self-destruct moves.

The Legendary accessory nullifies all explosion damage for you and your active Pal, including self-destruct moves.

Explosion damage is one of the few things in Palworld that can end a run instantly — a missile volley on an oil rig, a spore burst in a boss arena, or your own Pal blowing itself up. The Explosion-Resistant Undershirt removes that entire damage category from the equation. It is a Legendary accessory that nullifies explosion damage outright, and the immunity extends to whichever Pal you currently have out.

Quick answer: Hit Level 76, spend 5 Technology Points to unlock the Explosion-Resistant Undershirt, then craft it with 10x Explosion-Resistant Fiber and 50x Mythical Wood. Equip it in an accessory slot and every explosion-type attack will read 0 damage on you and your active Pal.

Explosion-Resistant Undershirt stats and effect

The item is an accessory, not chest armor, so it takes up one of your accessory slots rather than replacing your body gear. Its in-game description reads: “A lightweight yet durable undergarment made from special fibers. It nullifies damage from explosions.” That is the whole effect — there is no percentage scaling and no partial resistance tier like the heat and cold undershirts use.

How to unlock and craft the Explosion-Resistant Undershirt

Reach character Level 76 and open the Technology menu. The Explosion-Resistant Undershirt sits in the Ancient Technology section and costs 5 Technology Points to unlock. There is no schematic to hunt down for this one — unlike the other three undershirts, it is a pure Technology unlock.
Farm 10x Explosion-Resistant Fiber from Silvance, the Immortal Shade boss found in the World Tree area. The fight is a level 78 encounter, so bring a maxed party and a mount that can survive the arena. Either defeating or capturing Silvance rewards the fiber.

Collect 50x Mythical Wood. It comes from processing Ancient Relics gathered in the World Tree region, so plan on doing a relic run alongside your Silvance attempts rather than treating it as a separate trip.
Craft the undershirt at a workbench — the Ancient Workbench handles the recipe — and slot it into your accessory bar. You will know it is active the moment an explosive hit lands and the damage number comes up as zero instead of a red chunk off your health bar.

Every attack classified as explosion damage

The immunity only applies to moves the game internally tags as explosion damage, and that list is broader than it looks. Spore attacks count, mine-type attacks count, and several charge and cannon moves count. Anything on this list is fully nullified while the undershirt is equipped.

Using Implode and Megaton Implode without losing your Pal

The biggest practical use is self-destruct builds. Normally, a Pal that fires off Implode or Megaton Implode takes the blast itself and drops. With the undershirt equipped, the active Pal inherits your explosion immunity, so a Pal like Knocklem can detonate Megaton Implode into a boss for full damage and take nothing back.

That also frees up a passive slot. Pals with the Heavily Armored passive already get explosion immunity of their own, so if the undershirt is covering your active Pal anyway, you can build that Pal around damage passives instead of survivability. In a fight like Bjorn & Bastigor, that means repeated Megaton Implode casts with no downtime spent reviving anything.

Note: the immunity follows the Pal you currently have out. Swap to a different Pal and the protection moves with it — it is not a permanent buff applied to your whole party.

What the undershirt blocks on oil rigs, in dungeons, and in raids

Oil rigs become a completely different experience. Flying out to the Rayne Syndicate Platform, the Attack Chopper’s missiles land for zero damage, and Syndicate Elites firing rocket launchers at point-blank range do nothing either. You can hover, land, and loot without breaking off to heal.

Inside the Silvance dungeon, the same rule holds for spores. Giant Spore and Spore Burst are both filed under explosion damage despite looking nothing like a blast, so the boss’s signature attacks stop registering entirely. That makes the fiber farm considerably easier once you own the undershirt, which is a useful loop if you want a second copy.

Wild Pal mine attacks behave the same way. Star Mine, one of the more annoying field hazards to eat while mounted, is negated on contact — the mine still triggers, it just does not take anything off your health bar.

Blazamut Ryu (Ultra) and the limits of explosion immunity

Against Blazamut Ryu, Incarnation of the Eternal Flame (Ultra), the raid boss’s clap, smash, and blast attacks all land for zero on both the player and the active Pal. That covers most of its damage output, but it does not make the fight free.

Status effects are not part of the explosion damage category, so burn still applies and still ticks you down. Anything the boss deals that is not tagged as explosion damage also lands normally. If a move is not on the explosion list, the undershirt does nothing for it — this is a single-category immunity, not general damage reduction.

Weighing 2 units and occupying a single accessory slot, the undershirt is cheap to carry once crafted, and the two ingredients come from the same region, so a single World Tree trip can cover both. The main cost is getting to Level 76 and surviving a level 78 boss to collect the fiber. After that, an entire damage type stops mattering — and self-destruct Pals go from a one-shot gimmick to a repeatable opener.
