99 Nights in the Forest: How to Build a Snow Weapon Armory

A snow-themed weapon vault in 99 Nights in the Forest is a long-run project. It needs a camp that survives well past the standard 99 days, a fully upgraded crafting bench, a stack of ice-tier gear pulled out of the Snow Biome and the Ice Temple, and enough wood to wall the whole thing in. Runs that reach the finished armory stage typically stretch to Day 150 or beyond.

Quick answer: Rescue missing kids to push the day counter forward, upgrade the campfire to Level 4 and the crafting bench to Tier 4, raid the Ice Temple for the Ice Sword and Ice Bow, then craft shelves and display racks inside a double-layer log wall perimeter.

Campfire and crafting bench requirements

Everything in the vault build depends on two upgrade tracks. The campfire needs constant fuel and climbs through levels as you feed it logs and materials, and the crafting bench climbs through tiers using wood and scrap. Campfire Level 4 matters most for loot, because rare chests start appearing in the deeper parts of the forest once you reach it.

Crafting bench Tier 4 is the gate for the late-game structures. Below that tier you cannot build the Radar, the Biofuel Processor, or the teleporter setup that makes repeat Ice Temple and Cultist Stronghold trips practical. Push the bench up early rather than saving scrap for decoration.

The crafting bench uses an “E — Craft Item” prompt; every vault structure starts here.

A handful of cheap early crafts pay for themselves across a long run. The Supply Crate keeps materials off the ground, and the Map is what lets you find posters, chests, and biome entrances without wandering.

Burning offerings at the campfire is the other lever. Items like Coinsplosion, the Blue Offering, and the Red Chest Offering apply bonuses that spread across the map, which is the fastest way to convert a quiet day into extra coins and loot spawns.

Extending the run past Day 99 with kid rescues

You cannot build a full armory inside a normal survival window. The day counter jumps forward when you complete a missing kid rescue, so each successful return is worth several days of progress at once. The four kids are the Dino kid, Kraken kid, Koala kid, and Squid kid.

Each rescue starts with a poster. Check the locations board at camp to see which targets are active, travel to the marked area, clear the wolves or cultists guarding it, and carry the kid’s pot back to the campfire to complete the rescue.

The camp board tracks what you have found and what is still missing, with a “View Locations” option for the map.

Rescues also feed the crafting track. Completing them unlocks higher bench tiers and hands out reward picks such as an upgraded sack or axe, both of which speed up the wood gathering the wall phase will demand later. Reaching Day 99 itself pays out 3 diamonds.

Where the ice weapons come from

The centerpieces of a snow vault are the Ice Sword and Ice Bow, both locked inside the Ice Temple. The temple is a fight, not a looting trip, so bring a reliable ranged weapon and healing before you commit. The Ice Sword sits in the top damage bracket for melee, which makes it worth the trip even if the vault were not the goal.

Ice SwordMeleeChests inside the Ice Temple
Ice BowRangedIce Temple; also recoverable from the giant tree in the snow area
Ice AxeMeleeRandom chest drops
SnowballRangedSnow Biome, Snow Chests, and Ice Chests in Medium or Large Snow Cabins
Snowball CannonRangedGranted at Level 1 of the Snowman class

The Cultist Stronghold is the other reliable supplier. It resets roughly every 20 minutes, so it can be farmed repeatedly for coins, diamonds, Cultist Gems, and the gold chests that hold the game’s rarest weapons. Higher stronghold levels hold the better reward rooms.

While you are in the Snow Biome, a carrot placed on the sad snowman’s face awards a Cultist Gem plus diamonds. That gem feeds directly into high-tier crafting, so it is worth grabbing on any trip north.

What the frost effect does, and what ignores it

Snow weapons share a slowing effect that cuts an enemy’s walk speed. That is the real value of the Snowball, which does very little damage on its own but stuns and stalls cultists long enough to clear a room in the stronghold or the Ice Temple. It is also a decent escape tool against a bear, wolf, alpha wolf, or arctic fox chasing you down.

Polar Bears are the exception. The freezing slow from the Snowball, the Ice Sword, and the Frozen Shuriken has no effect on them, so bring a straight damage weapon for those fights. Never run the Snowball as your only weapon.

The Snowman class covers the gap with the Snowball Cannon, which fires quickly with infinite ammo. At Snowman Level 2, landing six snowballs on the same target applies the slow, and Level 3 shortens the reload. Damage per shot stays low, so keep hitting one target rather than spreading fire.

Vault defenses: walls, lightning rod, radar, and boost pads

Cultists raid the camp at night, and the raids get heavier the longer a run goes. A finished armory uses double-layered log walls around the whole perimeter, with torches spaced along the safe zone so nothing approaches unseen. Barbed wire slows attackers at the choke points, and a lightning rod protects the structures during storms.

Boost pads and a lit perimeter make night raids far easier to hold off.

The Radar is a Tier 4 bench build and belongs near the center of the camp. Alongside it, farm plots and a Crock Pot keep food handled so long trips to the Snow Biome do not end in a starvation death on the way home.

Boost pads shorten the walk out of camp. Upgrading one into a Winged Boost Pad requires feathers from the giant owl, which nests at the top of the massive tree in the snow area. Defeat it, collect the feathers, and apply the upgrade at your existing pad.

The wall phase eats an enormous amount of wood. Keep supply crates positioned along the build line so you can dump logs near where they are needed instead of hauling every load back to the campfire.

Supply crates hold materials on site, which cuts down on runs back to camp during wall construction.

Display racks and interior layout

Weapons only display properly once you have crafted enough shelves and thin tables. Build the racks against the interior walls first, then place gear in groups so melee, ranged, and armor each occupy their own run of shelving. Thin tables work better for small items like bottles and hand tools that get lost on a full shelf.

Storage shelves double as display racks once the vault interior is laid out.

Furniture is bought with coins earned from stronghold runs and cultist drops. Prices are low compared to what a single stronghold clear pays out, so decoration is rarely the bottleneck.

Polar Bearskin Rug$4

Tip: a hammer will deconstruct furniture found in abandoned cabins back into raw materials. That is often faster than chopping trees when you are short on wood for the final shelf run.

Why long vault runs fail

  • The campfire goes out while you are away in the Snow Biome or the Ice Temple, which strips the camp’s protection and invites night attacks.
  • The crafting bench is left below Tier 4, blocking the Radar, Biofuel Processor, and teleporter builds the late base relies on.
  • Snow weapons are used as the only damage source, which stalls out against Polar Bears and armored cultists.
  • Kid rescues are skipped, so the day counter never advances far enough to finish the wall and shelving phases.

You will know the build is done when the perimeter is fully enclosed, the campfire holds through a night raid without help, and every ice weapon you have collected sits on a rack rather than in your inventory. From there the stronghold reset timer is the only thing standing between you and a duplicate of anything you are still missing.
