Operations are the quiet half of Star Wars Zero Company. They don’t drop you into turn-based combat, but they burn Intel, tie up operators for a cycle, and in Trick’s case they gate an entire tactical mission behind them. Contact Sawtooth and Opportunity Knocking are two of the earliest ones you’ll see on the Holotable, and both need the right bodies assigned before the Execute button does anything useful.
Quick answer: Speak to Trick in the Den around Cycle 5 and agree to help, then open the Holotable, select Contact Sawtooth on Ryloth, pay 50 Intel, assign two operators, and hit Execute. Completing it unlocks the No Clone Left Behind tactical mission.
Operation costs and operator requirements
Both operations live on the Holotable inside the Den, Zero Company’s base in a hangar on the Ring of Kafrene. The Holotable lists every Operation and Tactical Mission available in the current Cycle, and Operations are paid for with Intel, which you earn by finishing Tactical Missions. Rewards can include Credits, Weapon Mods, and Utilities.
| Operation | Location | Intel | Operators |
|---|---|---|---|
| Contact Sawtooth | Ryloth | 50 | 2 |
| Opportunity Knocking | Donut | 50 | 3 |
Note: Operations and Tactical Missions sit on the board for a limited window and then vanish for good. If Contact Sawtooth is showing, run it that cycle rather than saving Intel for something else.

Contact Sawtooth does not appear on its own. It comes out of a conversation, so the habit of checking in with your squad between missions matters here. Trick, the former Clone Trooper of the starting seven, is the first operator to bring you a personal job.

How to run Opportunity Knocking
Opportunity Knocking is a Choice Operation, so the screen asks you to commit before it shows what you’re getting. It sits on Donut for 50 Intel and needs three operators, one more than Contact Sawtooth, which is the main reason people run it in the same cycle rather than back to back.

Confirming the unlock: No Clone Left Behind on Ryloth
You’ll know Contact Sawtooth landed when No Clone Left Behind appears as a Tactical Mission on Ryloth in the Holotable’s mission list. That’s the only confirmation you need. If it isn’t there, the operation either hasn’t resolved yet or was never executed.
Hawks and Trick are locked into the squad for the mission itself. Kabb covers melee and clears a path, while Jae Mordant is best parked somewhere with sightlines. Sawtooth waits in the upper right of the map, so send two operators right to reach him and push the other two forward. The assist mechanic is worth spamming here, since it feeds the Hawks and Trick bond.
Reaching Sawtooth opens an evac zone on the left side of the map. Start moving your forward pair toward it immediately and peel one operator off the rescue team to clear enemies on the way. Reinforcements can be ignored. Only Hawks, Trick, and Sawtooth have to reach the evac point for the mission to succeed, but anyone you leave on the map is gone permanently, injuries or not.
Why the operation won’t launch
- You haven’t had the Cycle 5 conversation with Trick yet. Contact Sawtooth doesn’t exist on the Holotable until you agree to help him.
- You’re short on Intel. Both operations cost 50, and Intel only comes from completed Tactical Missions.
- You don’t have enough free operators. Opportunity Knocking needs three and Contact Sawtooth needs two, and anyone recovering in the Medbay can’t be assigned.
- The window closed. Operations expire after a set number of cycles and do not come back.
Trick’s rescue is the first of the companion threads in Star Wars Zero Company, and the pattern holds for the rest of the main six. Keep circling back to the Den between missions, keep a small Intel buffer on hand, and the Holotable stops feeling like a scheduling chore and starts acting as the on-ramp to content you’d otherwise never see.
