D-O is the reward at the center of a limited-time event in Droid Tycoon, the Star Wars tycoon mode inside Fortnite. The little droid shows up under attack from a wave of hostile battle droids, and the entire event boils down to one number on screen: a Trust Level meter that starts at 0 and needs to hit 400.
Quick answer: Go to the D-O event platform in the desert area, start a defense wave at the console, kill every hostile droid that spawns, and repeat waves until the Trust Level meter reads 400/400. Then walk up to D-O and interact with him to claim him as a companion.
What D-O does once you unlock him
D-O lands as an Iconic droid and slots into a Worker role, so he pulls double duty as a credits generator and as a companion perk. The headline stat is Half Fusion Time, which cuts the wait on fusions rather than boosting raw output.
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Rarity | Iconic |
| Slot type | Worker |
| Credit rate | 15%/s |
| Perk | Half Fusion Time |
| Unlock requirement | Trust Level 400 |
Because the perk is tied to fusion speed, D-O is most useful while you are actively pushing droids up through Galactic and Stellar fusion tiers. Fusions can otherwise be skipped with a paid Rush Fusion option, so halving the timer directly cuts how often that is tempting.

Trust is earned only by killing the droids that attack D-O. There is no alternate currency turn-in and no passive progress, so the entire grind is combat.
You can jump straight into the mode from its official island page if you are not already in a session.
Super Sandcrawler: the free blueprint window
Defending D-O also feeds a second system. Once 80 droids have been defeated, a Super Sandcrawler phase triggers and a conveyor belt of blueprints opens up for a short window, shown on screen with a countdown of roughly 45 to 60 seconds.
During that window, rare, mythic, and stellar blueprints are handed out free or at heavily cut prices. This is the part of the event worth prioritizing if you already have a strong roster, because the blueprint pool includes models that are otherwise slow to chase.
- Battle droids: B1 HEAVY, B2 HEAVY, B2 SUPER, GROUNDMECH
- Astromechs: R5, R6, BB
- Utility and walkers: AMP WALKER, MONO-WLKR, UTIL-TEC, OPTI-POD, HAUL-R
- Others seen on the belt: LO, KK, KX
Tip: park yourself at the conveyor as soon as the Super Sandcrawler banner appears. The timer is short, and anything left on the belt when it expires is gone.
The D-O Event Pass and what it changes
An optional Event Pass sits in the event menu at a price of 300. It is not required to unlock D-O, but it does compress the grind. The pass awards 2x event progress and adds +0.5x to every event boost that is active.
In practice, doubled progress means fewer defense waves to reach 400, and the boost multiplier stacks on top of whatever credit and blueprint bonuses the event is already running. If you are farming the Super Sandcrawler phases hard, that is where the pass pays back fastest.
How to confirm D-O is unlocked
Two things confirm the claim went through. The Trust Level display fills to 400/400, and after interacting with D-O the unlock screen appears with his stat card, showing the Iconic tag, the 15%/s rate, and the Half Fusion Time perk.
After that, D-O appears in your droid roster and can be equipped as a companion or assigned to a Worker slot like any other droid. If the stat card never appears, you did not complete the interaction at the platform, and the reward stays waiting there.
Why the unlock can fail
There are only two realistic ways to walk away without D-O. The first is stopping short of 400 Trust, since partial progress does not award the droid. The second is timing, because these events run in fixed windows and the platform is not available outside them.
No official return window for the D-O event is currently confirmed. Past Droid Tycoon events have varied widely in length, from short two-hour weekend slots to full 24-hour runs, so it is worth checking the in-game news tab and the countdown near the Cantina before planning a session around it.
If you only have a limited stretch of time in the mode, the efficient order is simple. Push defense waves until the Super Sandcrawler triggers, empty the conveyor, then go back to the console and keep grinding Trust until the meter caps.
