Star Wars Zero Company: How to Speak with the Guard Captain on Bespin

Where the Guard Captain stands during Infiltrate the Prisoner Exchange, and how Hawks talks past him.

During Infiltrate the Prisoner Exchange on Bespin, the mission stalls at a single objective: Speak with the Guard Captain. There is no fight here and no alternate route. Hawks is wearing a guard’s uniform, and the only way forward is a conversation with the officer posted at the sealed door on the far side of the plaza.

Quick answer: Leave the starting room, take the stairs down into the plaza, follow the blue objective marker to the large orange circular door, then use the TALK prompt on the Guard Captain and bluff your way through as a security sweep ordered by Major Striker.

Guard Captain location in the Bespin plaza

The objective begins in an interior room above the plaza. Head out and down the stairs into the open public area, where Bespin residents are standing around the decorative structures arguing about whether the Lord Administrator’s plans are even workable. None of them matter to the objective, and none of them need to be avoided.

Cross the plaza toward the blue objective icon. The Guard Captain is standing at the far end, directly in front of a large closed orange door. That door is the way to the negotiation chamber, and it stays shut until the conversation is done.

Talking past the Guard Captain as Hawks

Walk up until the TALK prompt appears and trigger it. The captain opens hostile, telling you to get back to your post because the area is off limits. Hawks answers by praising him for following Major Striker’s order exactly, then claims Striker wants one more security sweep before the exchange.

The captain pushes back once, asking whether Striker thinks something was missed. Hawks shrugs it off with a jab about the man milking his promotion. That lands, the captain says “Just go,” and Hawks signs off with “Aye aye.” The whole exchange runs a few seconds and does not branch into a failure state.

Note: the alias is doing the work here, not any skill check. Hawks is reading as one of Bespin’s own security personnel, which is why a story about a routine sweep is enough to move the captain.

Turbolift route to the negotiation chamber

The orange door behind the captain opens as soon as the dialogue ends, and the tracker switches to Take turbolift to the negotiation chamber. Step through the doorway and into the lift car waiting on the other side.

Use the interaction prompt on the lift console to start the ride. It is a short trip with no combat and nothing to collect along the way.

When the lift arrives, step out and the objective becomes Find the negotiation chamber, which is the next stage of the infiltration.

If the tracker still reads “Speak with the Guard Captain,” the conversation has not resolved. The two things that hold it up are talking to the wrong guard, since ordinary Bespin security and the residents in the plaza both offer chatter prompts, and walking away mid-dialogue before the captain says “Just go.” Return to the marked officer at the orange door and let the exchange finish, and the door opens on its own.
