The Trick Egg in Grow a Chicken Fighter is the only path to the Ace Rooster, and getting your first one comes down to a single chicken. You start with the Catalyst Hen, a Secret chicken that lays Trick Eggs at a low rate, then switch to any chicken you hatch from a Trick Egg to farm the rest far faster.
Quick answer: Place the Catalyst Hen in your coop or Incubator, collect its eggs every 10 minutes until one is a Trick Egg (2% chance per egg), hatch it, then equip a chicken from that Trick Egg (such as the Domino Chick) to raise your Trick Egg rate to 10% or higher.
The Catalyst Hen is your only entry point
You cannot get a Trick Egg without the Catalyst Hen first. It is a Secret chicken that hatches from the Colossus Egg with a less than 1% chance, so expect to open a lot of Colossus Eggs before it appears. There is no shortcut around this step.
The Colossus Egg itself comes from the Founder Chicken (25% chance to lay one) or as a reward from the Chicken Boss Event. Farm Colossus Eggs until a Catalyst Hen hatches, then move straight to farming Trick Eggs with it.

Once deployed, the Catalyst Hen lays one egg every 10 minutes. Most of those eggs are Colossus Eggs, and only a small fraction are the Trick Egg you want. Here is exactly what it produces.
| Egg laid | Chance |
|---|---|
| Colossus Egg | 98% |
| Trick Egg | 2% |
At a 2% rate and one egg every 10 minutes, getting your first Trick Egg can take a while. Collecting offline eggs helps, since your chickens keep laying while you are logged out.

What a Trick Egg can hatch
The Trick Egg hatches five different chickens across a range of rarities, ending with the Secret Ace Rooster at under a 1% chance. The Ace Rooster is the reason most players farm Trick Eggs in the first place.
| Chicken | Rarity |
|---|---|
| Domino Chick | Rare |
| Checkmate Hen | Epic |
| Puzzle Hen | Legendary |
| High Roller Rooster | Cosmic |
| Ace Rooster | Secret |
Farm Trick Eggs faster after the first one
Here is the part that speeds everything up. The Catalyst Hen is only needed for your first Trick Egg. As soon as you hatch a chicken from a Trick Egg, swap to it, because those chickens lay Trick Eggs at a much higher rate.
Even the lowest-rarity result, the Rare Domino Chick, has a 10% chance to lay a Trick Egg. That is five times the Catalyst Hen’s 2% rate. Deploy whichever Trick Egg chicken you hatch and keep collecting, and Trick Eggs start stacking up far quicker, which gives you more rolls at the Ace Rooster.
How to confirm it is working
You will know the loop is set up correctly when the deployed chicken starts adding Trick Eggs to your egg inventory. Check the INDEX tab in your Flock menu to confirm which chicken is active and what it lays. If Trick Eggs are not showing up, the most common reasons are simple. You have not deployed the Catalyst Hen (or a Trick Egg chicken) yet, or you have collected too few eggs to hit the low drop chance. Keep the right chicken active and keep collecting on the 10-minute cycle, and the eggs will come.
