Sword of Rupture is a Vanguard-tier Familiar in Anime Vanguards that only works with Gilgamesh (King of Heroes). It arrived with the 25th Hour Part 3 update on August 29, 2026, and it can be bought directly for 500,000 Gold. Once equipped, it hands the unit a stack of large damage boosts and rewrites how several of its abilities behave.
Quick answer: Open the Tempest Pirate’s Gold Shop in the lobby, go to the Familiars section, and buy Sword of Rupture for 500,000 Gold. Then equip it to Gilgamesh (King of Heroes) through the Familiar menu.

How to buy Sword of Rupture
The Familiar is a straight purchase, so there is no farming or drop chance involved. You just need enough Gold and access to the shop in the lobby.
After the purchase completes, the Familiar appears in your inventory ready to equip. Vanguard Familiars are locked to a single unit, cannot be Corrupted, and cannot be Rerolled, so its stats stay fixed once you own it.

Sword of Rupture will not do anything until it is attached to the correct unit. It is tied to Gilgamesh (King of Heroes) and no other unit can use it.
You will know it worked when the three passive names show on Gilgamesh’s info panel and the unit’s damage numbers jump the moment it is placed on a stage.

Every passive Sword of Rupture grants
The Familiar adds three named passives. The headline effect is a flat 8,000% damage boost, but the two other passives change how Gilgamesh interacts with allies, active abilities, and NP stacks.
| Passive | Effect |
|---|---|
| Filled Arsenal | Increases the unit’s damage by 8,000%. |
| King Leading His People | Buffs Holy units by 80% damage and Crimson Moon allies by 50% damage and 20% range. Attacks apply Nullify. Active Ability damage bypasses enemy damage reduction, shields, and overshields. After Enuma Elish activates, grants 50% crit damage for 30 seconds. The unit gains the passive and active Enuma Elish on placement. Every 10 follow-up attacks from allies give 1 NP stack. It no longer loses damage based on units in range, and the Myriad Treasures damage cap rises from 35% to 300%. |
| Gates of Babylon | Each use of a non-toggleable Active adds 1 NP stack, up to 30. When Enuma Elish activates, stacks drop by 1 per second while attacking a single enemy for 100% damage with a guaranteed crit that applies on-hit effects and targets the strongest enemy. Grants 10% damage per NP stack, holding at the highest value reached until stacks hit zero, then resets. |
How the NP stack loop works in practice
The two mechanics that matter most in combat are NP stacks and Enuma Elish. Gates of Babylon builds NP stacks whenever you fire a non-toggleable Active, and King Leading His People adds more stacks passively from allied follow-up attacks. Each stack is worth 10% damage, and that bonus is remembered at its peak.
When Enuma Elish fires, the stacks start draining at 1 per second. During the drain, Gilgamesh locks onto a single enemy, dealing 100% damage per hit with guaranteed critical strikes that always prioritize the strongest target. Because the unit gains both the passive and active Enuma Elish on placement, this loop can begin right away without extra setup.
Note: The damage bonus from NP stacks stays pinned at the highest total you reached until every stack is spent, at which point it resets to zero. Timing Enuma Elish after building toward the 30-stack cap keeps that bonus high for the whole drain window.

Sword of Rupture compared to Key of Babylon
Gilgamesh (King of Heroes) already had an earlier Vanguard Familiar called Key of Babylon, obtained from Events. Sword of Rupture covers the same unit but pushes far higher numbers and reworks the Gates of Babylon mechanic to trigger from Active use rather than every basic attack.
| Detail | Sword of Rupture | Key of Babylon |
|---|---|---|
| Base damage boost | 8,000% | 125% |
| NP stack source | Non-toggleable Active use (and ally follow-ups) | Each attack |
| How to obtain | Gold Shop, 500,000 Gold | Events |
Because a Vanguard Familiar is limited to one unit and cannot be swapped between characters, Sword of Rupture is the pick if you plan to build Gilgamesh (King of Heroes) as a serious damage dealer and have the Gold to spend.
