Honkai Star Rail 4.5 Apocalyptic Shadow: Best Teams for Celestial Lupine

Node-by-node boss weaknesses, buff picks, and clear-ready team lineups for the current Apocalyptic Shadow cycle.

Node-by-node boss weaknesses, buff picks, and clear-ready team lineups for the current Apocalyptic Shadow cycle.

The current Apocalyptic Shadow cycle in Honkai Star Rail 4.5, Celestial Lupine, swaps in a new boss lineup across its three nodes. Because each node presents different weaknesses and a different set of node buffs, you need two or three purpose-built teams rather than one catch-all squad. Clearing all three nodes rewards Stellar Jade, Jade Feathers, and additional materials.

Quick answer: Bring Quantum, Fire, Ice, or Physical damage to Node 1 (Abundant Ebon Deer), Fire, Quantum, Physical, or Lightning to Node 2 (Shadow of “Feixiao”), and Fire, Imaginary, Quantum, or Physical to Node 3 (@SparxiConOfficial), matching each team to the node buff that fits its damage type.

Node bosses and weaknesses

Each node locks you into a fixed boss, so team building starts with matching your damage element to that boss’s weaknesses. Here is what you face across the cycle.

Node buffs for Celestial Lupine

Before locking a team, pick the node buff that amplifies its main damage source. The buffs differ between nodes, and the strongest choice depends on whether your team leans on Skills and Ultimates, memosprites, DoT, or crit stacking.

Node 1 buffs

  • Land of Fertility: Increases Skill and Ultimate damage for all allies, with a stronger boost for the first character in the lineup.
  • Unstoppable Force: All memosprites ignore 20% of the target’s DEF.
  • Beaming Bliss: Enemies take extra Elation damage, and if an Elation character is on the team, all allies gain 50% Weakness Break efficiency.

Node 2 buffs

  • Literary Brilliance: Lowers enemy Wind and Lightning RES by 40%.
  • Past Life: Shadowed Reverie: All allies deal more damage when three or more memosprites are on the field.
  • Blighted to the Bone: Each DoT an ally deals regenerates 1 Energy, and all allies ignore 40% of the target’s All-Type RES.

Node 3 buffs (Starward mode)

  • Beaming Bliss: Enemies take extra Elation damage, and an Elation character grants all allies 50% Weakness Break efficiency.
  • Unto Apotheosis: Every Skill Point an ally consumes grants 6% CRIT DMG, stacking up to 10 times.
  • Armed Up: All allies gain 50% Physical damage, and enemy Physical RES drops by 20%.

Node 1 teams: Abundant Ebon Deer

Node 1 puts you against Abundant Ebon Deer, weak to Quantum, Fire, Ice, and Physical. A hypercarry structure works best here since Land of Fertility rewards a single lead damage dealer.

TeamMembersRecommended buff
Himeko Nova hypercarryHimeko Nova, Dan Heng Permansor Terrae, Sunday, SparkleLand of Fertility
Dual DPSRin Tohsaka, Archer, Sparkle, Dan Heng Permansor TerraeLand of Fertility

The Himeko Nova hypercarry is the strongest option for this node. With Land of Fertility feeding her Skill and Ultimate damage, she can clear the fight without much trouble, though the Voracity Corrosion mechanic can slow things down. The Rin Tohsaka and Archer dual-DPS setup is a solid alternative thanks to its area damage, and it also benefits from Land of Fertility.

Node 2 teams: Shadow of “Feixiao”

Node 2 features the Shadow of “Feixiao,” weak to Fire, Quantum, Physical, and Lightning. Because the boss is weak to Quantum, memosprite-heavy and DoT teams both perform well here.

TeamMembersRecommended buff
Castorice memospriteCastorice, Evernight, Robin Summeretto, HyacinePast Life: Shadowed Reverie
DoTHysilens, Kafka, Black Swan, Dan Heng Permansor TerraeBlighted to the Bone

Castorice’s premium composition gained a meaningful boost with Robin Summeretto, letting the team push more damage than before. Since the boss is Quantum-weak, this lineup clears Node 2 comfortably when paired with Past Life: Shadowed Reverie. If you lack Castorice, the Hysilens DoT team with Kafka and Black Swan is a strong fallback. Under Blighted to the Bone, the constant DoT ticks feed Energy and trigger Ultimates far more often.

Node 3 teams: @SparxiConOfficial (Starward mode)

The Starward mode node pits you against @SparxiConOfficial, weak to Fire, Imaginary, Quantum, and Physical. This boss carries a large HP pool, so sustained damage output matters more here than in the earlier nodes.

TeamMembersRecommended buff
Dual DPSSparxie, Silver Wolf LV999, Yao Guang, HuohuoBeaming Bliss
Speed DPSEvanescia, Yao Guang, Elation Trailblazer, HuohuoArmed Up

The Silver Wolf LV999 and Sparxie dual-DPS pairing offers the most aggressive route through the boss’s high HP. The Evanescia team is the fast alternative, hitting the boss frequently thanks to Evanescia’s speed. Beaming Bliss works well regardless of which lineup you run, while Armed Up is the better pick specifically for the Evanescia team because of its Physical damage boost.

Tip: An Elation character in the lineup unlocks the 50% Weakness Break efficiency portion of Beaming Bliss, which helps push through the boss’s Toughness faster.

Match your damage element to each node’s weaknesses, pick the buff that amplifies your team’s main damage source, and you will have all three nodes cleared and the full reward set banked. The dual-DPS and DoT alternatives cover cases where you lack the premium units, so a full clear stays reachable even without every featured character built.
