Illegal Soccer plays like normal soccer until someone pulls out a revolver, drops an oil spill, or grapples across the pitch. Servers hold up to eight players, there are no referees, and every match rewards clean passing and smart gadget use far more than chasing the ball. Getting the controls locked in and knowing which items are worth carrying is the fastest way to stop losing possession.

Quick answer: Left-click kicks, right-click passes, F lobs, E tackles, and the number keys equip gadgets. Prioritize the Grappling Hook and Jetpack for movement, use the Gun to disrupt attackers, and save the Oil Spill for choke points near the goal.

Every action in a match maps to a single input. You pick up the ball by touching it, then use the buttons below to move it, defend, or fire off a gadget. Learning what each one does matters more than sprinting toward the ball on every play.

The dribble dodge on Spacebar is easy to waste. Trigger it only in the moment an opponent commits to a tackle, not while you have open space ahead. Time it right and you slip past the challenge with the ball still at your feet.

Best items to use and how they rank

You get two gadget slots on the HUD, so build a pair that covers movement and disruption rather than doubling up on the same effect. Mobility gadgets are the strongest overall because they let you reach the ball, escape pressure, and create attacking angles that defenders cannot predict.

Field pickups add more variety. Lucky blocks spawn during matches and can hand you a revolver, which is strong enough to shoot the goalie and clear a path to score. Item rolls in the lobby also produce common and uncommon tools like the Energy Drink for a short speed burst, the Oil Spill for slippery trails, and the Grappling Hook for pulling yourself toward the ball.

Tip: Rarity does not decide matches. A well-timed disruption tool used while an opponent is about to score is worth far more than firing off a powerful gadget while the play is nowhere near you.

Joining a match and picking a team

Before kickoff, you choose a side by stepping onto the Join Red or Join Blue pad. Confirm your team first so your passes and tackles go to the right players. In the chaos of a live match, hitting a teammate with a tackle or firing on them wastes a gadget and hands the opponent an advantage.

Once you spawn in, glance at the scoreboard and match timer. Your priorities shift depending on the situation, so push hard for a goal when you are behind late and protect the ball when you hold a lead.

How to score and win more matches

Direct shots at the keeper get blocked often. The reliable approach is to move the defense before you shoot, then finish into space the goalie cannot cover. Passing creates more chances than solo runs, and the biggest mistake new players make is holding the ball too long.

Spread out across the pitch instead of bunching up. Wider spacing gives the ball carrier more passing targets and forces defenders to choose who to cover.

Pass before you get surrounded. Quick passes shift the defense and open a second shooting lane, especially when several opponents collapse onto one player.

Read which side of the goal the keeper is protecting and aim for the opposite corner or the back post. The goal is to make the save hard, not to shoot as fast as possible.

Finish before the defense resets. When the keeper or nearby defenders are displaced, take the shot quickly before they recover.

Keep moving after passing. Stay available for a return ball, chase loose balls, and recover toward your goal the moment possession flips.

Stamina management is the other half of winning. Save your energy for key runs rather than sprinting constantly, and use mobility gadgets only when they open a real scoring lane. Defense counts too, so track opponents away from the ball and protect the goal when possession changes.

Illegal Soccer codes status

Illegal Soccer does not currently have any confirmed working public codes, and the game does not yet have a code redemption menu. When codes are released, you will redeem them through an option inside the game’s menus. Until then, there is nothing to enter.
