Baldur’s Gate 3: Best New Mods of the Week

A rundown of the newest pirate maps, class mods, outfits, and load-order tools worth installing right now.

A rundown of the newest pirate maps, class mods, outfits, and load-order tools worth installing right now.

Baldur’s Gate 3 modding has settled into a weekly rhythm, and this batch leans hard into two things: a pirate-themed crossover that adds both new places to sail and new enemies to fight, and a wave of class content that pushes progression far past what Larian shipped. There’s also the usual pile of armor, head presets, and two utility mods that make a bloated load order easier to live with.

Quick answer: Install Uncharted – Pirates of Faerûn – Maps for VP alongside Infinite Combat Encounters to get the full pirate package — the maps supply the ships and islands, the encounter mod drops the new minibosses onto them.

Pirate maps and minibosses: the Uncharted and Infinite Combat Encounters crossover

The headline release is a collaboration. Uncharted – Pirates of Faerûn – Maps for VP, by Axiona and InkyPlease, builds out a set of sailable spaces — pirate ships, islands ringed with skull rocks, airships overhead, and the occasional kraken in the water. Waypoints let you move between locations, including The Grinning Isle. Below deck, Signy’s Cabin is dense with interactive objects and lore props, which is the point: the maps are designed as backdrops for virtual photography as much as for exploration.

The other half of the crossover is a pirate update for Infinite Combat Encounters, which adds four new fights to summon: the Menzoberranzan Captain, the Pirate Queen, the Tide Hunter, and Redcap Pirates. Each has its own portrait and title, and the encounters hold up under Honor Mode rules, so they aren’t just reskinned filler. Summon them onto a ship deck and you get a proper naval brawl in a game that otherwise never gives you one.

New classes, subclasses, and extended level progression

Class content is the busiest category this week, and two of these mods go well past the base game’s level 12 ceiling. If you want that progression to actually fire, you’ll need a level-cap mod such as UnlockLevelCurve in your load order.

Mod (author)What it adds
Scarlet Witch (dantye11ev)A class with telekinesis abilities and force damage spells, bundled with a matching armor set
Homebrew Subclasses (zx10rx)Six subclasses: Spellreaver Rogue, College of Bladewave Bard, Sea Soul Sorcerer, Storm Domain Cleric, Circle of the Sun Druid, and Way of the Sword Saint Monk
Solasta Rogue Subclasses (oakleysheh)Darkweaver, Shadowcaster, and Hoodlum rogue subclasses with full progression to level 20
Ketheric Chosen of Myrkul (PredKnox)A level 1–40 class built around Ketheric Thorm’s powers

Companion, romance, and vampirism overhauls

Mizora Joins the Party by WorldWalker42 does what the title says. Meet the recruitment requirements in Act 3 and she becomes a party member with her own camp presence, including a human form option. It’s the most substantial companion addition here, since it touches camp behavior rather than just adding a body to the roster.

Symphony of a Vampire – Vampirism Overhaul by Lukyirym is the most ambitious system rework of the week. It replaces the usual spell-list approach with a custom skill tree drawn as an anatomical heart, and there are 46 vampiric powers to unlock across it. The interface work alone makes it worth a look if you’ve been running a vampire character with nothing but Astarion’s bite.

Rounding out this group, Ascended Astarion Romance Overhaul – BETA by gobenoblin and LittleHouseofImaginations expands the dialogue and the number of choices available during romance scenes. It’s flagged as a beta, so treat it accordingly on a save you care about.

Armor, outfits, and crossover gear

Neeryn released two sets. CORVID – Wings – Armor – Camp Clothing is raven-themed, comes with stealth buffs, and includes a fly mechanic, so it changes how you move and not just how you look. SALEM – Armor and Camp Clothing is the cosmetic counterpart, an Ahri-inspired dress that reads well both in gameplay and in staged shots.

Head presets and character edits

Appearance work stayed small and targeted this week. Two of these are new options in character creation; the other two change faces you already know.

Mod (author)What it changes
Ambrose Head Preset_BT2 (StarlessTides)Custom male head preset for Half-Elf and Drow, body type 2
bhaal babe (laryelayn)Orin-inspired head edit for Humans and Elves
Luxperviance – Shadowheart’s Selûne Tattoos (mooch30)Hand-drawn Selûne tattoos applied to Shadowheart
Taste of Poison – Minthara Edit (SweetGenerous)Cosmetic face and hair redesign for Minthara

Two tools that make a large load order manageable

Once you’re running dozens of mods, the hard part stops being installation and starts being bookkeeping. Sensible Mod Info by nzx solves the worst of it by writing the source mod directly into item tooltips, along with any modifications applied to that item. Open your inventory and you can immediately see which mod added the sword you’re holding, which makes conflicts far easier to trace.

Character Creator Head and Hair Search (CCHHS) by SerpentineShel attacks the other bottleneck. It adds a text search box and filter interface to the character customization screen, so a preset pack with a hundred entries stops being an endless scroll.

Where to download these mods and what to check first

Baldur’s Gate 3 mods are distributed through two main channels. The in-game mod manager pulls from the mod.io Baldur’s Gate 3 catalog, which is the only route on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Everything else, including most large overhauls and outfit ports, tends to land on PC mod sites first.

Confirm the mod lists Patch 8 compatibility before subscribing. Older uploads that predate current patches can silently fail to load or break character creation.
Install dependencies before the mods that need them. Class mods advertising progression beyond level 12 need a level-cap unlock installed, and add-on packs need their base mod present or they do nothing.
Load a save and verify. New subclasses show up at level-up or at a respec with Withers, outfits appear in the tutorial chest or via their listed source, and Sensible Mod Info naming the origin mod in a tooltip is the clearest sign a load order is being read correctly.

Note: Baldur’s Gate 3 supports modding, but running mods disables achievements. That’s expected behavior, not a symptom of a broken install.

If you only have room for one addition this week, the pirate pairing is the easiest sell, because it adds both a place and a reason to go there. The class mods are the bigger commitment — they change how a whole run plays, and the ones reaching level 20 or 40 will reshape encounter difficulty in ways the base game was never tuned for. Start a fresh save for those, and keep the old one intact.
