Where Winds Meet: How to Unlock and Get Skystrike Gauntlets (Eonpour)

The exact route, fight, and dialogue choice that hand you the gauntlet martial art and its Eonpour tome.

The exact route, fight, and dialogue choice that hand you the gauntlet martial art and its Eonpour tome.

The Skystrike Gauntlets are a Melee DPS martial art on the Bamboocut – Draught path, and they aren’t bought, crafted, or pulled from a shop. A single wandering drinker in the Hidden Mountain region hands them over, but only after you beat him in a duel and then sit through his story.

Quick answer: Teleport to Gasping Cliff in Hidden Mountain-Shenze, head southeast to the waterfall at Millennium Crossing, challenge and defeat Jiu Qiansui, then talk to him again beside the wine jars and pick “Listen to the Story” to receive the Skystrike Gauntlets and Eonpour Tome I.

What the Skystrike Gauntlets unlock gives you

The encounter pays out twice. Winning the duel drops currency and an achievement, while the conversation afterward is what actually teaches the martial art and its matching Inner Way.

Route to Jiu Qiansui at Millennium Crossing

Open the map and switch to the Hidden Mountain-Shenze area. Gasping Cliff is the teleport point you want, since it drops you closest to the waterfall where the fight happens.

From Gasping Cliff, travel southeast on foot or by gliding toward Millennium Crossing. The area sits below the cliffs, so dropping down and gliding across is faster than following the ground path.
Look for the waterfall at Millennium Crossing. Jiu Qiansui is standing near the water with wine jars around him, and he stays put rather than patrolling, so there’s no timing window to worry about.

Beat Jiu Qiansui, then hear him out

Interact with Jiu Qiansui and select “Challenge” from his dialogue options. This starts a straight one-on-one duel rather than a quest chain.

Win the fight. Once he goes down, the A Drink Well Earned achievement pops alongside the Jade Fish, Trace Jade, and Storage EXP payout. The gauntlets are not part of this reward screen, so don’t walk away yet.
Talk to Jiu Qiansui a second time by the wine jars and choose “Listen to the Story”. This is the actual trigger for the martial art, and skipping it leaves the Skystrike Gauntlets locked in your menu.

Let the sequence play out and follow any on-screen prompts, including the “Wait for developments” objective, until the dialogue ends on its own. The unlock lands at the end of the scene, not partway through it.

How to confirm the unlock and equip the martial art

Two acquisition banners appear as the conversation wraps up: one for the Skystrike Gauntlets martial art, and one for Eonpour Tome I, which registers Inner Way: Eonpour at 100% Comprehension. If you only see one of those, the sequence didn’t finish.

Open the Martial Arts menu to check. The Skystrike Gauntlets entry should no longer be greyed out, and selecting it lets you equip the style and view its move list. Once equipped, your character swaps to the gauntlets in the field and you can run the basic attack chain immediately.

Common reasons the gauntlets stay locked

There are only a couple of ways this goes wrong, and both come down to leaving early.

  • You left after the duel. The combat rewards and the martial art are separate. You have to re-engage Jiu Qiansui afterward.
  • You picked the wrong dialogue option. Only “Listen to the Story” grants the tome and the style.
  • You unlocked it but never equipped it. Owning the martial art doesn’t put it in your active loadout; that’s a manual swap in the Martial Arts menu.

Skystrike Gauntlets vs Heavenwill Gauntlets

Where Winds Meet has two gauntlet martial arts, and they’re acquired in completely different ways. The Skystrike Gauntlets come from Jiu Qiansui and sit on the Bamboocut – Draught path. The Heavenwill Gauntlets belong to the Bamboocut – Kite path and are bought from the Mohist Hill sect shop for 100 Reputation, which you can do without joining that sect.

Note: if you’re following instructions that mention Reputation costs or a sect shop, you’re looking at the wrong weapon. Nothing about the Skystrike Gauntlets involves a purchase.

The whole thing takes a few minutes once you’re at Gasping Cliff, and the Eonpour tome arriving at full Comprehension means there’s no grind between unlocking the Inner Way and slotting it in. Beat him, hear the story, equip the style.
