The Blood of Dawnwalker: How to Unlock The Unquenchable Thirst Trophy

The exact night-and-day sequence that reveals the truth about Vicho and pops the bronze trophy.

The exact night-and-day sequence that reveals the truth about Vicho and pops the bronze trophy.

The Unquenchable Thirst is a bronze trophy in The Blood of Dawnwalker, and it is one of the game’s 17 hidden trophies. Its unlock condition is short and blunt — find out the truth about Vicho — but the wording hides the fact that the investigation runs across two different times of day. Miss the daytime half and the trophy never fires, even if you already know who the culprit is.

Quick answer: Run the night investigation, question the other Valkyrie until you identify the vampire who cannot control their thirst, finish the night questline, then return during the day and complete the merchant’s quest that formally names the culprit. The trophy pops on that final reveal.

The Unquenchable Thirst trophy details

The trophy sits in the bronze tier alongside most of the game’s quest-specific unlocks. It is worth 10 Gamerscore on Xbox and counts toward Every Last Drop, the platinum. Because it is hidden, the description stays masked in your trophy list until you trigger it.

Night phase: Identify the vampire who cannot control the thirst

Start the investigation at night. Coen’s vampiric senses and the relevant NPCs are only available after dark, so advance time first if you are still in daylight. The core detective work will not progress during the day.
Speak to the other Valkyrie on site. They supply the accounts of what happened and narrow the field of suspects. Exhaust the dialogue options rather than picking a single line and walking away.
Pick out the one vampire who is unable to keep their thirst in check. This is the deduction the whole quest hangs on, and it comes directly out of the Valkyrie testimony you just gathered.
Finish the night questline. Do not stop at the accusation — the objectives need to resolve before the follow-up becomes available.

Day phase: Complete the merchant’s quest to reveal the culprit

Advance time to daytime. Merchants shut down at night in Vale Sangora, so the quest giver simply will not be there until the sun is up.
Take the quest the merchant offers and see it through. This daytime task is what officially exposes the culprit and closes the loop on the night investigation.
Watch for the trophy notification as the reveal lands. Once the truth about Vicho is confirmed, The Unquenchable Thirst unlocks and the entry in your trophy list stops being hidden.

Why the trophy does not pop

Two things account for almost every failed attempt. The first is stopping after the night questline, assuming that naming the vampire is enough — the daytime merchant quest is the actual trigger. The second is time-of-day mismatch, where players look for the merchant after dark and conclude the quest is bugged.

A third, rarer problem is self-inflicted. Killing non-hostile NPCs, vendors, or quest givers can remove the person you need, and there is no substitute path. Enemies are fair game; townsfolk and merchants are not.

Tip: Keep a manual save before you begin the night investigation. Manual saves are the safety net for the whole trophy list in this game, and they let you rewind if a conversation or objective closes off in a way you did not intend.

Time cost and the 30-day limit

Time in The Blood of Dawnwalker does not tick along on its own. It is spent like a currency on dialogue choices, skill unlocks, and quest completion, which means this investigation costs you part of the 30 days you have to rescue your family from Brencis.

That budget is more forgiving than it sounds. The main story can be wrapped in roughly 7 to 10 days, leaving around 20 days for side content. Side quests also do not expire from time simply passing — they only become timed once you start them, and the journal marks those with an hourglass icon. The game continues past day 30 and side content remains available, so a late run at this trophy is fine.

The Unquenchable Thirst is one of 47 trophies and achievements in the game, split across 1 platinum, 3 gold, 5 silver, and the remaining bronze. It asks for no combat skill, no build, and no difficulty setting — only that you follow the investigation through both halves of the day-night cycle before you tick it off the list.
