Neverness to Everness: Runaway Echoes Event Guide and Rewards

Everything the wave-survival mode asks of you, from its two modes and talent tree to the 480 Annulith reward pool.

Everything the wave-survival mode asks of you, from its two modes and talent tree to the 480 Annulith reward pool.

Runaway Echoes drops you into an Anomalous Realm and asks a simple question: how long can you stay alive? It is a wave-survival mode built on rogue-lite rules, where enemies pour in continuously, kills drop experience crystals, and every level-up hands you a card that reshapes how your character fights for the rest of the run. It arrives in Version 1.3 of Neverness to Everness on September 9, 2026, the same day Linko’s banner opens, and runs until September 30.

Quick answer: Runaway Echoes runs from September 9 to September 30, 2026 (05:59 UTC+8). Clear all six Simulation Practice stages and hit the 300-, 600-, and 1500-second survival marks in Endless Challenge to claim the full reward pool of 480 Annulliths, 200k Fons, and 4 Blue Dices.

Runaway Echoes event period and version

The mode unlocks after the Version 1.3 update on September 9 and closes at the end of the month. That gives you three weeks, which is plenty of room to grind the talent tree between attempts rather than trying to brute-force the later stages on day one.

You reach it the same way as every other event: tap the Event button in the upper-right corner of the screen, or open it through the menu. The event page splits into two cards at the top level, one for each mode.

Simulation Practice vs Endless Challenge

The two modes share a combat loop but end differently. Simulation Practice has a fixed survival window and a clear finish line, so a run terminates whether you want it to or not. Endless Challenge has no ceiling, which means your only exit is death or the timer milestones you are chasing.

ModeHow it endsWhat it is for
Simulation PracticeFixed survival window across 6 stagesStage-by-stage mission rewards
Endless ChallengeNo time limit; you survive as long as you canSurvival milestone rewards at 300s, 600s, and 1500s

Pick based on how much time you want to commit in one sitting. A Simulation stage resolves in a handful of minutes. The 1500-second Endless milestone is 25 minutes of unbroken combat.

How a Runaway Echoes run works

Every run opens with a choice of starting active skill, and from there the loop is the same. Anomalies spawn in waves, you kill them, they drop blue experience crystals, and picking those up fills a level bar. Each level-up pauses the action and offers cards, either new active skills or passive upgrades to what you already have.

Bosses arrive on a schedule rather than randomly, roughly once a minute. Stage 6 requires six boss kills to complete, so the fights punctuate the run at fixed intervals and act as the real difficulty check. Between them, the trash waves are where you rebuild your level curve and your health.

A live damage readout is available mid-run. It breaks down DPS, total damage, and uptime per skill, which is the fastest way to learn which cards are carrying the build and which ones are dead weight on your next attempt.

Card selection priorities

Damage cards win the early stages, but survivability decides the late ones. Shield-generating skills are worth taking once the boss cadence starts stacking, because a shield buys you the seconds you need to keep attacking instead of retreating. Health recovery matters most during the second and third boss windows, where damage output has scaled but your defensive picks usually have not.

A clean Stage 6 clear looks roughly like a six-minute run with over 500 kills. If your kill count is running low at the same timestamp, your damage cards are underperforming and the sixth boss will outlast you.

The Runaway Echoes talent tree

Runs feed a separate talent tree that sits outside any individual attempt. Points earned from playing go into elemental damage paths, including Cosmo and Anima branches, and those upgrades stay permanently active for the duration of the event.

This is the intended answer to a stage you cannot clear. A failed run is not wasted, because it still generates points. Spend them on the element your team actually uses rather than spreading them thin, then re-enter the stage with a higher damage floor.

Runaway Echoes rewards and mission list

Rewards come from mission completion rather than a points-and-shop exchange. Clearing simulation stages and reaching Endless survival marks unlocks claim buttons on the Task Rewards screen.

Nothing is claimed automatically. Open the Task Rewards page after your runs and tap each claim button, or the currency stays locked behind a completed mission you never collected.

Endless Challenge survival milestones

Endless Challenge pays out at three thresholds: 300 seconds, 600 seconds, and 1500 seconds. The final one is the gate on the full reward pool, so a partial Endless run leaves rewards on the table no matter how many Simulation stages you have cleared.

Note: attempt the 1500-second run after you have invested talent points, not before. The elemental damage bonuses are what keep your clear speed ahead of the scaling enemy waves in the back half of a 25-minute survival.

How to confirm a stage cleared

A successful Simulation run ends on a challenge complete screen showing your clear time, total kills, and the rewards earned. If that screen does not appear, the stage did not register and the associated mission stays unclaimed.

The two most common reasons a Stage 6 attempt fails are running out of the survival window before the sixth boss dies, and dying during a boss overlap because no shield or recovery card was picked up along the way. Both are fixed the same way, by taking at least one defensive card before the third boss and by spending talent points between attempts.

Runaway Echoes shares its September 9 start with a busy stretch of Version 1.3 content, and it closes on September 30 alongside most of the other summer events. Since the talent tree only applies inside this mode and disappears with it, there is no long-term investment to protect here, just a three-week window to clear six stages and survive 25 minutes.
