Roll Anime to Fight: How Baek’s Beast Awakening Passive Works

The Secret unit’s transformation trigger, its Beast Form stat jump, and the trade-off that comes with it.

Baek is a Secret rarity unit in Roll Anime to Fight, and his value comes almost entirely from one passive skill called Beast Awakening. Instead of firing off an active ability on a cooldown, he sits on the grid taking damage until a health threshold is crossed, then changes form mid-wave and starts hitting several times harder.

Quick answer: Beast Awakening triggers automatically the moment Baek’s health drops below 50 percent. He transforms into Beast Form, gains a large attack and health increase plus lifesteal, and loses access to any active skill while transformed.

Beast Awakening trigger condition

The passive has a single condition. Baek must be below half of his current maximum health. There is no button to press, no cooldown timer, and no wave requirement attached to it. Once the health bar crosses that line during a fight, the transformation happens on its own.

That means Baek is at his weakest exactly when he is safest. He needs to be taking hits from enemy waves to reach his own threshold, so parking him where nothing can reach him keeps him permanently in base form. Lifesteal arrives with the transformation, which is what lets him hold the line after he flips rather than dying immediately.

Note: Beast Form removes his active skill entirely. The unit card reads “No Active Skill” once transformed, so everything he contributes after the flip comes from raw attack value and lifesteal.

Baek base stats with the Parasite mutation

At Level 1 with the Parasite mutation, Baek’s numbers are modest for a Secret unit. His defense value of 1.5 and his speed value of 1 are the two figures that matter most when you compare him against traited versions, because traits change those two in opposite directions.

Attack488K
Defense1.5
Health180K
Speed1
Unit cost$7,500,000

The $7,500,000 placement cost is the practical gate on using him. He is not a unit you drop in early waves, and the health pool of 180K at Level 1 means the transformation threshold gets crossed quickly once enemies start connecting.

How the Superior trait changes the numbers

Traits are rolled from the Merchant menu and stack on top of a unit’s existing mutation. Rolling Superior onto Baek roughly triples his attack and doubles his health, while lowering his speed value from 1 to 0.8. Defense stays fixed at 1.5 through every state.

StatParasite onlyParasite + Superior
Attack488K1.46M
Health180K360K
Defense1.51.5
Speed10.8

The doubled health has a side effect worth planning around. A larger pool means it takes longer to fall under the 50 percent mark, so a Superior Baek spends more of each wave in base form before Beast Awakening fires.

Beast Form stats after the transformation

Once the threshold is crossed on a Superior-traited Baek, attack jumps from 1.46M to 4.32M and maximum health moves from 360K to 510K. Defense and speed do not move at all. The transformation is a damage and sustain conversion, not a full rebuild of the unit.

Health360K510K
Defense1.51.5
Speed0.80.8

Compared with his untraited Level 1 attack of 488K, a Superior Baek in Beast Form is putting out close to nine times that figure. The lifesteal attached to the passive scales with those hits, which is how he stays alive on a health bar that started the transformation in the red.

Confirming the transformation happened in a wave

You do not have to guess whether the passive fired. The change is visible on both the grid and the unit card.

  • The model swaps to a white tiger-like beast on the battlefield.
  • The unit name on the card reads Beast Form.
  • Attack and health values on the card jump immediately.
  • The active skill entry reads “No Active Skill.”

If none of those change, Baek has not dropped below half health yet. Click his unit card during a running wave to read the live stat panel rather than relying on the health bar alone.

Where Baek fits on high-wave teams

Baek has been run through waves past 100 against enemies including Zabuza and Orochimaru, which is the range where his attack ceiling justifies the placement cost. Below that, his base-form output and the seven-and-a-half-million price make him a worse investment than cheaper units that deal damage from the first second they land.

Because he needs to absorb damage before he becomes useful, he works best in a position that draws enemy attention rather than one shielded behind other units. Pair him with a fighter that covers wide groups, since Beast Form has no active skill to clear crowded lanes for you.

Rolling traits onto Baek

Open the Merchant screen and switch to the TRAITS tab. Each trait listed there has its own Acquire button and its own cost.
Roll a trait and apply it to Baek. The trait sits on top of the Parasite mutation rather than replacing it, so both effects show on the same unit card.
Check the updated stat block before committing to a wave. Attack and health should move immediately, and the speed figure will change on traits like Superior that trade speed for power.

Tip: Trait Shards and Trait Rerolls come from redeemable codes in the game’s Codes menu, several of which require reaching wave 76 before they can be claimed. Codes are announced in the codes channel of the game’s Discord server, and you can find the experience itself on the Roll Anime to Fight Roblox page.

The short version: is that Baek rewards patience in a way most Secret units do not. His card looks unremarkable at Level 1, and the trait roll only tells half the story, because the number that actually matters never appears until his health bar is already half gone. Plan the placement around that threshold and he holds his own well into triple-digit waves.
